October 12, 2023

The powertrain of the Kawasaki Ninja 7 Hybrid consists of a 451cc parallel-twin engine and an electric motor that combine to produce 43 kW (59 hp). Switch to E-boost mode and you temporarily get 51 kW (69 hp) at your disposal. Maximum torque is 60.4 Nm that is available as early as 2,800 rpm. Moreover, you can cover 12 km fully electric driving.

Sprint cannon

The Kawasaki Ninja 7 Hybrid looks fast, truly a super sportsman to behold. And he’s also pretty fast for a four-and-a-half. Especially in acceleration it impresses. According to Kawasaki, it pulls up from a standstill as fast as a 1,000cc motorcycle. According to the official WMTC consumption measurement, it consumes a liter of gasoline for 25 kilometers and in ECO driving mode, 1 in 27 is possible.

With start-stop system

There are three driving modes to choose from: sport-hybrid, eco-hybrid and an EV mode for all-electric driving. In the latter position, the transmission will switch to automatic mode, and so you can travel 12 km on a full battery. We know the start-stop system from hybrid cars. The Ninja 7 Hybrid also has it, and the system turns off the combustion engine when you stop. The transmission is then automatically put into first gear. When you squeeze the clutch lever, the engine starts and you can therefore drive off immediately.

Walk Mode

The Ninja 7 Hybrid also has a Walk Mode. Then the electric drive helps you maneuver step-by-step forwards and backwards. The Ninja 7 Hybrid has a gearbox with two functions: self-shift or choose automatic. Of course, there is also a 7 kWh compact battery on board to power the electric motor.

Frame

The frame is designed specifically for this bike. The base is the Kawasaki Trellis frame. However, that was modified to allow compact mounting of the fuel engine, electric motor and battery. In a position that also gives the Ninja 7 Hybrid optimal weight distribution.

Kawasaki Rideology

The special color scheme and a color display that pairs with your smartphone via the Kawasaki Rideology app are some other features. That’s where the information ends. Kawasaki reports announcing more about full specifications, price and availability soon.
