October 27, 2022

New front for Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio

What stands out about the redesigned Alfa Romeo Giulia and Alfa Romeo Stelvio? The layman may have to look twice, but Alfisti probably notice right away that the grille has been slightly modified and the headlights have a new design.

New headlights

Alfa Romeo also now equips both models – like the Tonale – with three-way Full-LED Adaptive Matrix headlights. The three modules not only provide illumination as bright as daylight, but also form a dynamic turn signal. The headlights feature Adaptive Front Lighting System – which continuously adjusts the low beam according to driving speed and conditions – as well as Glare-Free High Beam Segmented Technology. The latter system automatically detects front and oncoming traffic in poor lighting conditions and prevents glare to drivers of other cars.

The taillights are also new

The layout of the LED taillight units is also new. The rear lights of the Stelvio are now made of transparent glass, those of the Giulia of smoked glass with glossy black finish.

New all-digital instrument panel

The main innovation in the interior of the Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio is the instrument panel. It includes a new all-digital 12.3-inch TFT screen. The driver has a choice of three views: Evolved, Relax and Heritage.

Alfa Connect Services

Through the infotainment system, the driver can access information, control functions and Alfa Connect Services. Over-the-air updates have also been considered. Convenient because then you don’t have to go to the dealer for software updates.

The My Remote feature includes several services, such as the ability to remotely lock and unlock doors and control lights via smartphone and smartwatch, among others.

Also, NFT technology

NFT (Non-Fungible-Token) technology is available for the new Giulia and Stelvio. Alfa Romeo introduced NFT with the Tonale and it is now available for the entire model range. The technology is based on the concept of the so-called blockchain card, an encrypted and non-modifiable digital register that records the car’s most important information.

Based on the customer’s selection, the NFT generates a certificate recording details of the car’s use and maintenance. This certificate can be used to substantiate the condition of the car and thus support the residual value. The NFT certificate gives the owner/seller credibility and offers the buyer security when purchasing the used car.

280-hp gasoline engine

Alfa Romeo supplies both models only in combination with a 280-hp gasoline engine with Q4 all-wheel drive. Shifting is done with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission with aluminum shift paddles.

The Super variant has a Sprint pack. The Ti version features a Veloce pack. In the Ti version with Veloce Pack, the Q4 all-wheel drive can be integrated with the Q2 mechanical self-locking differential. It increases agility and enhances the sporty character of the car.

Competizione version

Alfa Romeo also supplies a Competizione version. This is the top trim of both models and features the Veloce Pack and is distinguished by the matte body color Light gray and red brake calipers. Furthermore, this version of the Giulia and Stelvio features a Harman/Kardon audio system and a dashboard and seats covered in leather with red stitching. Finally, this version includes privacy glass and Competizione badges on the flanks and front headrests.

Exclusive to the Competizione variant is Alfa Active Suspension, the suspension with electronically controlled dampers that continuously adjust to driving conditions.

Market launch

The new Giulia and Stelvio will be in the showrooms of Dutch Alfa Romeo dealers from the first quarter of 2023. The updated Quadrifoglio versions will follow later. The 200-hp gasoline engine has been removed from the program.
