Volkswagen ID.3 GTX: that one has a lot of power!
Powerful powertrain for Volkswagen ID.3 GTX
The new ID.3 GTX models, like the ID.4, ID.5 and ID.7, use Volkswagen’s latest electric motor. In addition to the 210 kW/286 hp version, the 240 kW/326 hp variant debuts with torque as high as 545 Nm. The power of the electric motors translates into appealing numbers. The ID.3 GTX accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 6.0 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 180 km/h. ID.3 GTX Performance takes 5.6 seconds for the “0-100” sprint. At 200 km/h, the limitation kicks in.
Multilink rear suspension
The driving pleasure of the ID.3 GTX models is also in the dynamic handling. By placing the battery pack in the car floor, the center of gravity is low and weight distribution is optimal. Extra-heavy stabilizers, the multilink rear suspension and GTX-specific suspension tuning also contribute to the driving experience. The ID.3 GTX Performance also has DCC adaptive chassis control with a choice of driving programs.
Battery pack and charging time
Both new ID.3 GTX models use a new 79 kWh lithium-ion battery pack capable of fast charging with 175 kW direct current. Charging the battery pack from 10-80% takes about 26 minutes. The expected range for the ID.3 GTX is 600 kilometers according to the WLTP test standard.
GTX design
The new GTX models have a completely unique, dynamic look. These include the specific GTX front bumper with a large black diamond-patterned air intake. IQ.LIGHT LED matrix lighting with a continuous light strip in the grille is standard. The distinctive arrowhead-shaped daytime running lights are a new GTX feature. Many elements, including the newly designed door sills and rear diffuser are finished in high-gloss black. With black accents and diamond-shaped patterns, the 20-inch “Skagen” alloy wheels also emphasize the GTX character. These rims also come in all-black versions.
Sporty interior
The interior also shows its sportiest side. Standard, for example, are premium sports seats with stitching in red; the backrest has the GTX logo perforated. Optional ergoActive seats with ArtVelours Eco microfiber upholstery and ArtTex leather trim are available. This also includes power seat adjustment and red GTX logos on the rear seats. The multifunction steering wheel combines several GTX features, such as the red stitching finish and accents in chrome and red. Also, the digital instrument panel has GTX features in the menu. An augmented reality head-up display is available as an option.
Infotainment is also new
The introduction of ID.3 GTX models coincides with a completely new cockpit look for all ID.3s. A large (32.8 cm) central touch display is an important part of the new infotainment system. The new, innovative menu structure makes operation even easier. Various functions are also accessible with convenient shortcuts. The drive mode selector switch is no longer located in the Digital Cockpit housing, but, like the ID.7, now has its own switch on the steering column. Partly this created space for the larger infotainment screen.
