Tunnel Vision

Some drivers can’t hold back when they see an empty tunnel in front of them. They immediately turn down their windows so that they can properly enjoy the reverberations when they take a deep breath on the gas. Last weekend, a Belgian speedster drove in a Brussels tunnel almost five times faster than the speed limit, but did not cause any noise pollution. In fact, he was riding an electric scooter.

Roller Bike Parade

The driver did this last weekend during the Roller Bike Parade. For this event, some roads in Brussels were temporarily closed to normal traffic. Participants were thus able to complete a course on their roller skates, skateboard, bicycle or scooter in the city center, without the danger of cars around them. One Belgian saw his chance and decided to try out the top speed of his scooter in a closed, car-free tunnel.

Dualtron Thunder 2

The participant had not just any scooter under his feet, but a Dualtron Thunder 2. This electric scooter is known as the Ferrari among e-steps. In Belgium, e-steps are not allowed to go faster than 25 km/h, but the Thunder 2 easily ticks the 100 km/h mark. The scooter has a range of 150 kilometers and a starting price of 4,450 euros. So not just any scooter.

Tunnel

The Belgian scooter owner posted his adventure in Brussels during the Roller Bike Parade on TikTok. In the video below you can see how he races through a tunnel at 112 km/h. Harder than you are allowed in the Netherlands with your car on the highway during the day. The story ends badly for the driver. At the end of the tunnel, the cops are waiting for him.
