August 17, 2022

Aston Martin Valkyrie

The Aston Martin Valkyrie is not a normal hypercar, to the extent that there are any. The Valkyrie goes one step further. You can best describe Aston Martin’s model as a Formula 1 road car. In terms of overall concept, the Valkyrie bears similarities to the Mercedes-AMG Project One. This hypercar also uses a Formula One-based hybrid powertrain.

1,160 hp

Mercedes-AMG’s street-legal F1 car weighs 1,695 kilograms and has 1,063 horsepower. The Aston Martin Valkyrie has an output of over 1,160 hp on a weight of just over 1,000 kg. The 6.5-liter V12 has a maximum speed of no less than 11,000 rpm. Then you immediately understand why Coulthard has a headset with microphone on in the car, as you can see in the video below.

Impressive figures

The Valkyrie sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds and was developed in collaboration with Coulthard’s former F1 team: Red Bull Racing. Whether the driver therefore received a discount when he bought a Valkyrie is not known. If he had to pay full price, he had to transfer at least three million euros to Aston Martin.

Monaco

The first cars have now been delivered. Coulthard has also taken delivery of his copy and has already been spotted on a drive in Monaco. Not at high speed in the tunnel, but in the center of Monaco: Monte Carlo. A driving Valkyrie is a dream for every car spotter, because it doesn’t get much more exclusive. Until the Mercedes-AMG One hits the road, of course, and that won ‘t be long.
