Triumph 400cc motorcycles pleasantly priced
The Triumph 400cc models Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X both have single-cylinder engines that produce 40 hp at 8,000 rpm and 37.5 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. That’s pretty neat for a one-pounder. Especially when you contrast those figures with the weight of 170 kg roadworthy (Speed 400).
Triumph 400
The Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X have a classic look. They are actually smaller copies of the larger Speed Twin 900 and Scrambler 900. The 400s are surprisingly fully equipped and feature good components. We note, for example, an upside-down front fork with chunky 43 mm diameter struts. Up front we see a single disc but with a radial and therefore well slowing four-piston caliper. Traction control (even disengageable) is standard.
Many rave reviews
Paul Stroud, Chief Commercial Officer of Triumph Motorcycles said, “The response to the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X has been phenomenal and we know that customers around the world have been eagerly awaiting the price. Orders are already pouring in.”
Low price as an added value
Stroud: “We want to make these motorcycles as accessible as possible, and we hope these prices will get potential customers excited. We believe we are offering incredible value with this. Both models will be in dealerships from the end of January. We are confident that a new generation of Triumph riders will soon be able to enjoy our iconic style, quality and performance.”
