New colors of Toyota Corolla

Toyota is introducing two new colors for the Corolla, namely Juniper Blue Metallic and Ash Grey Metallic. New 18-inch alloy wheels have been designed for the new Corolla GR Sport, and the rear bumper also has a new shape. The seats in the Corolla Hatchback and Corolla Touring Sports have a new finish with the GR logo embossed in the headrests.

Interior Toyota Corolla 2023

In the interior, the Corolla gets a large 10.5-inch multimedia display and a 12.3-inch large digital instrument cluster, where the driver can choose what information is displayed and also choose from four different modes: Casual, Smart, Sport and Tough.

Voice commands

The new voice commands allow natural communication with the car to control multimedia, for example, or have vehicle functions – such as opening or closing windows – performed without pressing a button.

Also with smartphone app

A number of external services are also available using the MyT app, which allows drivers to use their smartphone to lock or unlock the car, control the climate control to heat or cool the cabin prior to a trip, activate the hazard lights and locate their vehicle.

Two hybrid powertrains

As with the current Corolla, the powertrain comes in two variants: a 1.8-liter and a 2.0-liter. Both powertrains benefit from sweeping changes to the combustion and electric motors that further enhance the driving experience. Performance increases thanks to additional power, while CO2 emissions remain the same or decrease. Thanks to a redesigned Power Control Unit (PCU), transaxle motor and the powerful and smaller lithium-ion battery, the new Corolla is up to 18 kg lighter.

Toyota Corolla 1.8 Hybrid

With the 1.8-liter hybrid powertrain, the new Corolla gets an output of 140 horsepower. The 0-100 km/h sprint takes only 9.2 seconds due to the increased power, a reduction of 1.8 seconds.

Toyota Corolla 2.0 Hybrid

For the 2.0-liter variant, power increases to 196 hp, now completing the 0-100 km/h sprint in just 7.5 seconds. This is almost half a second faster than before. CO2 emissions for the 2.0-liter variant decrease a few grams in the combined cycle.

Adapted engine management

Modified engine management should provide smoother throttle response. This was achieved by reducing engine speed during acceleration. Driveline noise during acceleration is also muted. How the redesigned Toyota Corolla Hybrid drives in practice we were able to experience earlier.

New safety features

The new Corolla is equipped with Toyota T-Mate, which combines the latest Toyota Safety Sense package with several active driving and parking assistance systems. Among other features, the Corolla has Acceleration Suppression, which responds to sudden use of the accelerator pedal during low-speed driving.

It also actively supports the car to avoid collisions when making a turn at an intersection. Emergency Steering Assist can now respond to oncoming vehicles. Over-the-air software updates also keep features up-to-date and allow new ones to be added as they become available during the life of the vehicle.

Thanks to the addition of Safe Exit Assist, the car will issue a warning if it detects a door being opened while a vehicle or cyclist is approaching from behind. There is also a new Rear Seat Reminder that signals the driver to check the rear seat before getting out. That way, nothing is ever unintentionally forgotten in the back seat.
