This is what the new Hyundai Kona Electric costs

Starting prices

Prices of the new Hyundai Kona Electric start at 39,995 euros for the Comfort trim combined with the 48.4 kWh battery. The Comfort version of the Kona Electric with 65.4 kWh battery pack comes from 43,995 euros.

SEPP grant

Individuals who choose the Kona Electric can benefit from a government subsidy of 2,950 euros in 2023, the SEPP subsidy. Counting with that, the new compact SUV can already be driven for 37,045 euros. In addition to the Comfort version with 48.4 kWh battery pack, there are three more versions of the Kona Electric that are eligible for the SEPP government subsidy: the Comfort Smart 48.4 kWh, the Comfort 65.4 kWh and the Comfort Smart 65.4 kWh.

Leasing is also possible

With Hyundai Operational Lease, the electric Kona comes from 489 euros per month excl. VAT (60 mont./10,000 km/yr.). The private lease rate is from 599 euros per month incl. VAT (60 mont./10,000 km/yr.). Both rates apply to the Kona Electric Comfort when combined with the 48.4 kWh battery pack.

Comfort version

Starting with the entry-level Comfort version, the Hyundai Kona Electric features include 17-inch alloy wheels with 215/60 R17 tires, a 12.3-inch multimedia screen with navigation and a fully digital instrument panel (12.3 inches). Other features, infotainment and safety systems are:

Comfort Smart

The Comfort Smart version goes a step further. That one adds features such as automatic tailgate, Head-up Display (HUD), heated front seats, heated steering wheel, privacy glass and a Seamless Horizon light (all-LED).

Premium version

The most luxurious version of the Kona Electric is the Premium. This premium version is available only in combination with the 65.4 kWh battery pack. With the Digital Key 2 Touch, the Kona Electric can be locked and unlocked via a smartphone or smartwatch, and inside, occupants enjoy a rich and immersive listening experience thanks to the Bose Premium audio system with seven speakers and a subwoofer.

In addition, the Premium trim includes 19-inch alloy wheels with 235/45 R19 tires, leather seat upholstery, a Surround View Monitor (SVM, 360-degree camera), E-Active Sound Design, heated front and rear seats, Blind-spot View Monitor (BVM), Parking Collision-avoidance Assist (PCA) and Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA).

In addition, the Kona Electric Premium is equipped with front reclining seats. For added convenience, there is the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function for charging electrical devices, such as a laptop or electric bike. This makes Hyundai one of the first manufacturers to offer this technology more broadly on electric cars.

Colors Hyundai Kona Electric

The new Kona Electric is available with a choice of seven exterior colors: Atlas White (Solid), Engine Red (Solid), Shimmering Silver (Metallic), Abyss Black (Pearl), Ecotronic Gray (Pearl), Meta Blue (Pearl) and Serenity White (Pearl). The two-tone Abyss Black option is available from the Comfort Smart trim. Unfortunately, we don’t get the bright yellow color in Europe. The Kona Electric comes standard with black cloth upholstery for the Comfort and Comfort Smart versions. With the Premium trim, leather upholstery is standard.

System power driveline

The variant with smaller battery has a system output of 114.6 hp with 255 Nm of torque. The larger battery version kicks it up to 160 hp, also with 255 Nm of torque.

Weight and towing weight

The range of the 48.4 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery comes out to 377 kilometers (WLTP) when combined with 17-inch alloy wheels. This version weighs 1,685 kilograms. The 65.4 kWh battery reaches 514 kilometers on a full charge of power if you choose 17-inch alloy wheels. If you go for 19-inch, the range reduces to 454 kilometers (WLTP). The weight of the Hyundai Kona Electric with larger battery comes out to 1,790 kilograms.

Tow weight

For the version with the 48.4 kWh battery pack, the braked trailer weight is 300 kg and for the Kona Electric with the 65.4 kWh battery pack it is 750 kg.
