The thoroughly redesigned Renault Clio has a price
Renault Clio 2023
With its new design style, the Renault Clio looks even more attractive and elegant, while the chic and distinguished interior represents the brand’s new design language, writes the French brand in the press release of the updated Clio. Not a word of it lied, if you ask us. Thanks to the redesigned front end, the Clio has acquired a distinctive and attractive snout. In addition to a new design, the updated Clio also has new technology on board, including a 7- or 10-inch digital instrument cluster.
Three versions
Renault delivers the new Clio with a choice of three trims, starting with the Evolution. Extensive standard equipment includes air conditioning (automatic at Techno), a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, 7-inch central touchscreen and wireless smartphone integration via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The Renault Clio in Evolution trim is available from €22,950.
The Evolution is followed by the Techno version with things like a rearview camera, hands-free card, 16-inch alloy wheels, shark fin antenna and a wireless smartphone charger. In addition, the seats, door panels and dashboard are upholstered in a specially developed, durable fabric composed of 60% TENCEL Modal, or a cellulose fiber of biomaterial developed by Lenzing Group. Contributing to Renault’s low-carbon strategy, the new Clio is the brand’s first model to use TENCEL Modal fibers. The Renault Clio in Techno trim is available from €24,950.
Esprit Alpine
The Esprit Alpine is the top version. After the Renault Austral and new Renault Espace, this sporty, elegant and technically sophisticated version now also appears in the range of the new Clio. This version combines features of the Alpine brand with Renault’s new design language. The Esprit Alpine can be identified by such features as the front wing finished in Gris Schiste, 17-inch alloy wheels and distinctive, specific seats with blue stitching and the Alpine brand’s signature letter A. Also in the Esprit Alpine, the seats are made of sustainable materials, including a fabric made of 65% recycled PET (polyethylene) for the seat and backrest and a 13% recycled, grained and coated fabric on the sides of the seats. The Renault Clio Esprit Alpine is available from €27,250.
Two engine variants
The top version in the Clio’s engine lineup is the 107 kW (145 hp) strong E-Tech Full Hybrid 145, consisting of a 1.6-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine, two electric motors, an intelligent multimode clutchless automatic transmission and a 1.2 kWh battery. This powertrain contains more than 150 patents and all the expertise Renault has gained in Formula One, especially in energy recovery. The E-Tech Full Hybrid 145 is systematically started by the primary electric motor and can drive fully electric for up to 80% of its driving time in urban areas. Thus, fuel savings of up to 40% can be achieved compared to a conventional gasoline engine. Average fuel consumption is set at 4.2 l/100 km with correspondingCO2 emissions of 95 g/km (WLTP).
In addition, the new Clio is available with the TCe 90. This three-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine produces 66 kW (90 hp) and 160 Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Average fuel consumption is set at 5.2 l/100 km withCO2 emissions of 118 g/km (WLTP).
