Skoda Enyaq Coupé iV looks sportier and comes 35 kilometers further

February 2, 2022

Best-selling electric car in the Netherlands

Skoda did good business with the Enyaq in 2021. In its introduction year, the model was immediately the best-selling electric car in the Netherlands. Worldwide, the brand sold about 45,000 copies in 2021. The Enyaq Coupé may continue that success with a sharper appearance.

Dimensions

The new Enyaq with sloping roofline is 4.65 meters long, 1.88 meters wide and 1.62 meters high. The wheelbase is unchanged at 2.77 meters. LED headlights are standard. It is optionally available with the ‘Crystal Face’. The grille is then illuminated by 131 LED lights and a horizontal LED light strip, a reference to the Skoda VISION iV concept study.

Enyaq Coupe iV RS

At the introduction in May 2022 you can immediately go for the top model: the Enyaq Coupé iV RS. In fact, the RS is the introduction model. The other versions are only available at the Dutch dealer two months later.

The RS is an Enyaq on steroids and can be seen as a full cousin of the Volkswagen ID.5 GTX. The RS version has a lowered chassis, black finish accents, rear light units connected by a light strip, a rear diffuser and large alloy wheels (20-inch standard, 21-inch optional). In addition, the RS is the only model available in Mamba Green.

Just like the Volkswagen GTX, the RS has an electric motor at the front and rear, which together produce 306 hp and 460 Nm. The top speed is 180 km/h – which is 20 km/h faster than a normal Enyaq (Coupé) – and it can reach 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds.

Battery and power

A total of four variants of the Enyaq Coupé are available. There is a choice of two battery options and four power variants. Each version is suitable for fast charging up to 125 kW. With the right fast charger, the 82 kWh battery pack will be back at 80% in about 29 minutes. All four versions are listed below:

Greater range

You can safely call the Skoda Enyaq a streamlined car. It has a Cw value of only 0.27. But thanks to the sloping roofline, the Coupé has a Cw value of 0.234. So it is a bit more streamlined than the regular Enyaq . As a result, it consumes less energy and with the same battery pack it comes a bit further than its brother with a continuous roofline. For example, the Enyaq Coupé 80 iV on paper reaches 545 kilometers on a single battery charge, while the same version without coupé styling reaches 510 kilometers. That’s a difference of 35 kilometers. You can also hang behind the hip SUV, because it can tow up to 1,400 kilograms.

570 liters of luggage space

Fortunately, the sportier appearance does not detract from the interior space. Compared to the regular version, you have to do with only 15 liters less luggage space. The standard panoramic roof extends almost continuously into the rear window and is thinner than a conventional steel roof. This creates sufficient headroom for adults, despite the sloping roofline.

Market launch Skoda Enyaq Coupé iV

As mentioned, deliveries of the Enyaq Coupé RS iV are expected to start at the beginning of May 2022, with the other versions to follow in July. Prices of all versions will be announced by Skoda shortly.
