Praga Bohema: special cannon from the Czech Republic with license plate!

November 25, 2022

Praga Bohema weighs less than 1,000 kilograms

The Praga Bohema is constructed largely of carbon fiber to keep the weight down as much as possible. Praga aims to weigh less than 1,000 kilograms and seems to have gloriously succeeded, as the weight remains at 982 kilograms. Development is not yet complete, so there may be some grams removed here and there.

V6 engine of Nissan GT-R

Praga you may know from the R1 track racer. That car car has a turbocharged Renault engine. But since Praga is really positioning this Bohema as a hypercar, more power was necessary. Audi’s V10 was looked at, but in the end Nissan made the better offer with its 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6. So in the back of this Praga Bohema lies a V6 from a Nissan GT-R, mated to a six-speed sequential transmission.

Performance Praga Bohema

By the way, the powerplant has been taken in hand by British tuner Lichtfield. The result is a solid 700 hp and 725 Nm. At a weight of 982 kilograms, that guarantees fireworks. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h takes about 2.3 seconds and the top speed is 300 km/h. Praga is not interested in the battle for the highest top speed in the hypercar segment. This Czech car brand is all about downforce. This is reflected in the specifications: at 250 km/h, the Bohema generates 900 kilograms of downforce.

A little luxury, too?

Air conditioning is present to keep cool, but an infotainment system is missing. Praga’s message is: bring your own smartphone. That can function perfectly well as a “touchscreen. There is room for two people. These do sit side by side at an angle because otherwise shoulder room is compromised. To get in and out, you have to be quite nimble. The steering wheel must be removed to then allow you to “slide” into the car.

There is even luggage space

Just in front of the rear wheels there is some luggage space (100 liters). With custom-made luggage cases, you can still take them on a weekend trip in no time. By the way, a racing helmet also fits in the cases.

What is the price of the Praga Bohema?

Then the price: the Praga Bohema costs 1.28 million euros, excluding government donations. The print run is limited to 88 copies.
