Popular Kawasaki Z400 and Ninja 400 are back!
‘Comeback’
It immediately fell on studying the 2022 price list: the lack of the Z400 and the Ninja 400. Which was a bit strange since both models were sold well in the light middle class. However, the models have been around for a while, so we wouldn’t have to wait long for a successor.
And here’s the re-introduction of the Kawasaki Z400 and Ninja 400 for model year 2023. These A2 capable bikes are the perfect introduction to the Kawasaki lineup for new riders or experienced riders looking for pure riding pleasure.
Technic
Both models are equipped with the powerful 399cc Parallel-Twin with 45hp, low consumption and Euro5 approved without loss of power. An Assist & Slipperclutch provides light clutch operation and prevents a rear wheel locking up when downshifting too early. When ready to ride, the Z400 and Ninja 400 weigh 167 kg and 168 kg respectively.
The chassis is an extremely light Trellis tubular frame with the engine block as a load-bearing part. A short wheelbase combined with a long swingarm and steep head tube angle results in the crisp handling that Kawasaki 400s are known for. The telescopic fork has a diameter of 41 mm and the large brake disc at the front has a diameter of 310 mm. Both emphasize the maturity of these models. From the saddle, the rider looks out on a multifunctional LCD display which clearly shows the rpm, speed, current gear, fuel level, mileage, trip meters, coolant temperature, ECO indicator and clock. The instrumentation is the same for both models.
Styling
Looking at the Z400, it is immediately recognizable as Kawasaki due to the well-known styling of the LED headlight, as the Z900 and Z650 also have. Like its bigger brothers, the look is characterized by clean lines and angles. The seat height is 785mm, but for tall riders the seat can be optionally raised. The Ninja 400 also has a recognizable Kawasaki Ninja design, due to, among other things, the separate headlights, raised nose and slim profile.
When for sale?
