Fiat Topolino spot on in Italy thanks to Ecobonus!

January 16, 2024

Fiat Topolino brother to Citroën Ami and Opel Rocks Electric

The Fiat Topolino is the little brother of the Citroën Ami and Opel Rocks Electric, but with a typical Italian design. The model closely resembles the first-generation Fiat 500 and comes in only one color: mint green. Nice right?

Price Fiat Topolino

The Fiat Topolino costs 10,543 euros in Italy, regardless of version. Choose from a Topolino with normal doors or a super cute Dolcevita with roll-up roof and “door strings. Both versions are eligible for a government grant of 3,000 euros in Italy. The starting price of both models thus drops to just 7,543 euros, including VAT.

Ecobonus

The arrangement in Italy is such that you can get back 30 percent of the purchase price. The grant is a concrete government response to achieve more sustainable mobility. The Ecobonus is enshrined in the Piano Nazionale Integrato Energia (PNIEC).

SEPP also for electric mopeds?

There is no such subsidy on electric “mopeds” in the Netherlands. Only on new electric passenger cars that meet certain conditions is it possible to obtain SEPP subsidies of up to 2,950 euros. SEPP stands for Electric Passenger Car Subsidy Scheme for Individuals. But this SEPP scheme is not really taking off. By 2023, about half of the available budget will have been used up. In 2024, 58 million euros will be available. Why not also make SEPP available for electric models that fall into the L7e or L6e category? This way you introduce many more individuals to electric mobility.

Specifications Fiat Topolino

The Fiat Topolino comes with a two-year manufacturer’s warranty, with no mileage limitation. The 5.5 kWh battery benefits from a warranty life of three years or up to 40,000 kilometers, whichever comes first. The Topolino’s range is 75 kilometers and its top speed comes out to 45 km/h. Sales in the Netherlands will begin in the summer of 2024. Expect prices of at least 10,000 euros. That’s nearly 1,300 euros more than an Opel Rocks Electric.
