BMW X1
In 2009, BMW expanded the model range with the X1, a compact SUV that was the brand’s entry-level model in SUV models. Despite the number in the type designation, the car was not based on the 1 Series, but shared its base with the 3 Series.

front-wheel drive
In 2015 it was time for succession and the second generation appeared on the market. This time the car shared its platform with the later Mini Countryman and BMW X2. This means that the X1 is now in principle front-wheel drive, but four-wheel drive is of course also available. New versions are an extended and hybrid version, but both remain reserved for the Chinese market.
Dutch car
Since last year, the X1 has also been produced in the Netherlands, at Nedcar in Born. To celebrate that the X1 has become ‘Dutch’, BMW Netherlands introduced an Orange Edition for the car. In addition to the extra decoration that belongs to the Orange Edition in any case, that model can also be ordered with a (dark) orange paint color.
