Buy tip: the unbeatable Ferrari F1 car of Michael Schumacher

July 25, 2022

Ferrari Formula 1

Although it seems more and more likely that Ferrari will not be champion again this year, we can say that the Italian racing team has found its way to the top this season. Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc says he is driving around with material with which he can compete for the title and Carlos Sainz even managed to grab his first F1 victory at the Silverstone circuit. So old times revive, because twenty years ago Ferrari drivers almost always had a champion-worthy car under their ass.

Michael Schumacher

Auction house Sotheby’s is offering a Ferrari F1 car that was literally unbeatable during the distinguished Monterey Car Week in California. This is an F1 car owned by Michael Schumacher, with which he won four victories. Those were also the only four times this car was used that season, making it extra special.

Most successful Ferrari

It is the only Ferrari Formula One car that has run at least three races and won in every race it has run. The car going under the hammer has chassis number 187 and is the seventh of a total of nine F300s built that year. Schumacher took his first victory with this car at the Canadian GP on June 7, 1998. Schumacher started third, but crossed the finish line first. It was the seventh race of the season and Schumacher’s second win that year.

Silverstone and Monza

In the same month he also won the French Grand Prix and on July 12 of that year he also managed to win the British GP at Silverstone. The car’s last race and victory came late that year on September 13 at Monza, during the Italian Grand Prix. Schumacher started from pole and also finished first.

$8.000.000

In 1999, the car was acquired from Scuderia Ferrari by its current owner. Probably not for the amount the car is worth now. It is estimated that the car will fetch $6 million to $8 million.
