Audi Q6 e-tron also comes as SQ6 e-tron
Premium Platform Electric
The basis of the new Audi Q6 e-tron is formed by the Premium Platform Electric developed together with Porsche. Features include a longer wheelbase of 2.90 meters and short overhangs. The low and sleek roofline gives the car an elongated look. At the rear, the continuous light bar stands out. One notable detail: the Q6 e-tron’s rear tires are wider than those at the front. This results in better balance, extra grip and more driving dynamics, according to Audi.
The powertrains
The Audi Q6 e-tron has powerful electric motors and a lithium-ion battery pack with a gross capacity of 100 kWh (94.9 kWh net). That provides a range of up to 625 km (WLTP). With a system output of 285 kW (380 kW for the SQ6 e-tron), the Q6 e-tron offers sporty performance. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds (4.3 seconds for the SQ6 e-tron), with top speeds reaching 210 km/h and 230 km/h, respectively.
800 volts
Thanks to standard 800-volt technology and a maximum charging capacity of 270 kW, the Audi Q6 e-tron can be charged quickly. With a suitable charging station (High Power Charging), it is possible to top up to 255 kilometers in just ten minutes. Charging from 10 to 80 percent takes about 21 minutes. With Plug & Charge, the car authorizes itself at appropriate charging stations as soon as the charging cable is plugged in. The Audi Q6 e-tron is also the first electric model from Audi to offer the option of so-called “bank charging”: at 400-volt charging stations, the 800-volt battery is then divided into two equal parts and charged in parallel with up to 135 kW. Home charging with a standard charger is possible up to 11 kW.
Another important aspect for the efficiency and range of the Audi Q6 e-tron is the advanced recovery system. About 95 percent of all daily braking can be handled by this system, allowing the car to recover up to 220 kW. For the Audi Q6 e-tron quattro, combined energy consumption is between 19.4 and 17.0 kWh/100 km (WLTP). Combined consumption for the Audi SQ6 e-tron is between 18.4 and 17.5 kWh/100 km (WLTP). WLTP is still a theoretical value. It is always wise to allow for a 30 percent margin, both for energy consumption and range.
Smart lighting for Audi Q6 e-tron
The Audi Q6 e-tron introduces a world first in lighting technology. It is the world’s first Audi with an active digital light signature. A special software module in one of the Q6 e-tron’s five computers makes the unique light signature possible. The digital OLED taillights generate a new image every ten milliseconds using a specially developed algorithm. This active digital light signature makes the Q6 e-tron’s exterior lighting more vibrant and intelligent than ever before.
At the front, the active digital light signature is created by the algorithm’s interaction with twelve segments. Behind, all digital OLED segments are used.
Second-generation digital OLED taillights take lighting design and functionality to the next level, improving road safety. They can now communicate with the car’s surroundings and have extensive safety features, including a communication light that warns other road users of accidents or breakdowns.
This new technology in the Audi Q6 e-tron also sets new standards for individualization, with eight digital light signatures in the updated daytime running lights of the Matrix LED headlights and the digital OLED taillights 2.0. It allows owners to personalize their Audi Q6 e-tron in a whole new way.
Interior Audi Q6 e-tron
The interior of the Audi Q6 e-tron is heavily driver-oriented. What stands out? Think panoramic display, MMI passenger display and soft materials. Recycled materials play a crucial role in the production of the Audi Q6 e-tron: they reduce the use of primary raw materials, thus ensuring a closed, sustainable circular production process.
Room
The new PPE platform ensures that the Q6 e-tron’s interior is very user-friendly and spacious. With the rear seats up, the trunk offers 526 liters of storage space. When the handrail is folded down, storage space increases to 1,529 liters. Another 64 liters of storage space is available in the frunk under the hood – a handy place to store smaller travel bags or the charging cable, for example.
Digital Stage
The infotainment system of the Audi Q6 e-tron ushers in a new era referred to as the Digital Stage. This includes the Audi MMI panoramic display and the MMI passenger display, a key feature in the interior. These clear screens are perfectly integrated and give the interior a spacious and airy feel. The Audi MMI panoramic display has a curved design with OLED technology and consists of the 11.9-inch Audi virtual cockpit and the 14.5-inch MMI touch display. The front passenger also has another 10.9-inch MMI display with Active Privacy Mode to prevent driver distraction.
One option is the Augmented Reality Head-Up Display, which projects relevant information onto the windshield. Audi Assistant, a self-learning voice assistant with more than 800 voice commands, is integrated and displayed on the central touch display and head-up display.
The infotainment system runs on Android Automotive OS software architecture and receives over-the-air updates. Naturally, Audi’s connected services and the e-tron route planner are standard. The Bang & Olufsen Premium audio system with 20 speakers and 830 watts of power offers an immersive experience, including dynamic interaction light (IAL) for communication functions.
Driving assistance systems Audi Q6 e-tron
As standard, the Audi Q6 e-tron offers a wide range of driving assistance systems that significantly improve daily driving and overall road safety. An innovative addition to the Q6 e-tron is the adaptive driving assistant “plus. It not only supports acceleration, speed maintenance, distance keeping and lane guidance, but also uses detailed map data and swarm data from other vehicles. This optimizes the Q6 e-tron’s handling. Thanks to the radar sensors, a front camera and ultrasonic sensors present, the Q6 e-tron is easy and smooth to drive.
At launch, rear parking assist, cruise control, lane departure warning, efficiency assist, active front assist and a distraction and drowsiness warning system are included as standard. Customers have the option of choosing additional assistance systems and a safety package as part of various equipment packages.
More information about the new Audi Q6 e-tron and SQ6 e-tron will be announced by Audi ahead of the Dutch market launch.
