What is the best SUV occasion?
Used SUV
So many people, so many wishes. Buying a used SUV is not only a matter of intellect, but also of emotion, taste and preference. We cannot advise on that. But on the internet you will come across countless websites with lists of the most affordable SUV occasion, the best SUV occasion, the most reliable and least reliable SUV occasions and make it up.
Affordable SUV used
Everything hinges on your budget, of course. The online car sales site Bynco provides an overview of all kinds of (used) SUVs, for example the best SUV occasions under 10,000 euros, but also the best 7-seater SUV occasions and most economical, electric SUV occasion. It’s worth checking out, if only to get ideas. Of course, you can argue about the top 3 of Renault Captur, Peugeot 2008 and Nissan Juke. Autovisie also provides lists and tips on, among other things, used SUVs, but whether they are of any use to you is also a matter of taste. In each case, they list the Ford Kuga (2013-2019), the Honda CR-V (2012-2015) and the Mazda CX-5 (2012-2017) as their favorite timeless SUVs.
Reliable SUV used
The AD has also taken a stab at the (un)most reliable used SUVs. Here, the Toyota RAV4 (2013-2018) comes out as the most reliable. You can also – if you have a little command of the German language – check out the TÜV website, which has breakdown and reliability statistics. But in the overviews you see mostly German models. In England AutoExpress, the sister company of
Autoweek
, did consumer research and there the Skoda Kodiaq came out as the most reliable SUV – the most reliable car overall even.
Valuable SUV used
Buying a car is a big expense and you don’t want your SUV used to be a bottomless pit whose value is plummeting fast. Of course everyone looks to the ANWB for advice on cars. When asked which SUV is recommended in terms of maintenance, comfort, consumption, etc., ANWB expert Jos gave extensive advice. The question played out five years ago, so it’s still perfectly applicable to SUV used cars today. And just last year, the ANWB published an overview of value-priced SUVs and crossovers. In it, the Volkswagen T-Roc, the Suzuki Vitara and the Toyota RAV4 are in the top 3. And that you need to look beyond SUV occasions if your main concern is the high entry level, the ANWB also clearly shows.
