Virgil van Dijk’s fleet of cars

Ability Virgil van Dijk

Virgil van Dijk is the world’s second most expensive defender. Only Matthijs de Ligt and Harry Maguire went to another club for a higher amount. In 2018, Liverpool bought him from Southampton for €84.4 million. He signed a new contract with the soccer club in 2021, now earning more than 250,000 euros a week. According to business magazine Quote, the tall defender is good for a fortune of over 25 million euros. So plenty of money to put some nice cars in the garage.

Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG

In 2015, the soccer player treated himself to a Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG, better known as a G-Wagon. When pictures of Virgil appear in the English tabloids, it is usually when he steps out of this fat German. The 400-plus horsepower Mercedes offers room for the whole family and, not unimportantly, for the long legs of the 1.93-meter footballer. In 2015, Van Dijk immediately brought the car to the well-known British wrapper Yiannimize, who gave it an extra sinister look by wrapping it completely matte black.

Audi Q7

When Virgil van Dijk wants to stay a little more under the radar, he gets into an Audi Q7. Again, a big car that the whole family can fit in, but it is a little less conspicuous than an all-matte black G-Wagon. Van Dijk has a wife and four children, so a spacious car is no luxury. In the past, there was another large SUV in the driveway in Liverpool: a 567-hp Range Rover Sport.

Ferrari 488 Spider

Of course, Virgil van Dijk also has a nice toy for the weekend in the garage. For when he doesn’t have to play soccer, of course. Its “fun car” is one of the most powerful convertibles Ferrari has ever made: a 488 Spider. The Ferrari boasts 670 hp and ticks 100 km/h in 3 seconds. The 488 Spider is a smart choice, since van Dijk, with his height, probably won’t fit into a Lamborghini. Moreover, in the convertible he never hits the roof with his head.
