(VIDEO) Test driver tries everything to get Kia Niro on its roof
Kia Niro 2023
Last week we drove the new Kia Niro for a few days. Here you can read whether it is a bit practical, what its performance is ánd whether it simply offers great value for money. Whether you can roll it over easily we did not test. We leave that to others.
Moose Test
On a test track, a test driver from the Spanish website km77.com pulled out all the stops to flip the new Niro over during a slalom test. In other words, the moose test. During this test, a driver makes a quick evasive maneuver, as if he suddenly had to avoid a crossing moose. You understand, the test originated in Scandinavia. If this succeeds at high speed, without threatening to topple over, then you are dealing with a safe and stable vehicle.
No shrinkage
The test is usually conducted at a speed of around 65 kilometers per hour, but the Spaniard in the video below pulls fully at the wheel of the Niro at 81 kilometers per hour. As you can see in the video, the Kia does not budge. According to the driver, the Niro has predictable handling and at no point did the car feel out of control. Notable detail: the car used is a “regular” hybrid version and not the all-electric Niro EV, which has an extra low center of gravity thanks to a battery pack.
