Toyota Sport Crossover Concept goes into production!
About the Toyota Sport Crossover Concept
Toyota presents the Sport Crossover Concept for the first time in Europe. The concept car is a preview of a new battery-electric model that will become part of Toyota’s battery-electric model lineup by 2025.
Toyota Kenshiki Forum
Toyota unveiled the concept model during the Toyota Kenshiki Forum in Brussels where the brand is previewing all its plans. Toyota first presented the Sport Crossover Concept at Auto Shanghai this April. The model was developed for both the Chinese and European markets by BYD Toyota EV Technology Co. Ltd. (BTET) – a joint venture established by Toyota and BYD.
The target audience of the model
The Toyota Sport Crossover Concept features an aerodynamic silhouette and striking coupe-like lines. According to Toyota, this makes the model grow into a style icon within the brand’s range of battery-electric vehicles (BEVs). The car is aimed at customers seeking a stylish alternative to SUVs. “The Sport Crossover Concept offers maximum comfort combined with the functionality of five doors, generous rear legroom and a large luggage compartment,” Toyota promises.
Name?
The name of the production version of the Sport Crossover Concept is not yet known. Should we consider a bZ in the name? Probably not. During the presentation, that term was never mentioned. This suggests that Toyota is switching to a new naming strategy for its models in Europe. Check out the Sport Crossover Concept in the video below in which we also name the first details of the Urban SUV Concept.
