Thoroughly redesigned Kia Sorento has a price
Solid facelift
To create more uniformity within the brand, the Sorento has received a design update that better matches other Kia models, such as the EV9. The South Korean automaker fitted the Sorento with T-shaped headlights and opted for a wider grille. Also, the new Kia logo has been moved from the grille to the hood. Changes to the rear of the Kia Sorento are minimal. The light units have been changed, but that seems to be all. Of course, there are new color options and wheel designs. New exterior colors include Interstellar Grey, Volcanic S, Brown and Cityscape Green.
Interior
Inside, some changes have also been made. For example, the air vents have been made slimmer to accommodate the larger touchscreen of the infotainment system. The climate control control control unit also received an upgrade. The Sorento ExecutiveLine is equipped with fingerprint recognition. This allows the driver to associate a user profile. It can also be used to activate valet mode, as an alternative to entering the PIN. Sorento drivers can also use their smartphone as a smart key with the digital key 2.0.
Three versions
The updated Sorento Plug-in Hybrid is available in the Netherlands in three trim levels: DynamicLine, DynamicPlusline and the ExecutiveLine. All versions use the same plug-in hybrid powertrain, with a 1.6 T-GDI gasoline engine mated to a 13.8 kWh battery, a six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. Combined power is 252 hp, with an expected electric range of 55 km and a towing weight of 1,000 kg.
Prices of updated Kia Sorento
The updated Kia Sorento Plug-in Hybrid will be in the showrooms of Dutch Kia dealerships from mid-June. The DynamicLine variant is available from 56,195 euros. For the DynamicPlusLine and ExecutiveLine, prices start at €60,295 and €64,895, respectively. The six-passenger version of the ExecutiveLine has an additional cost of 1,000 euros. Like other Kia models, the Sorento comes standard with a 7-year or 150,000-kilometer warranty.
