This Polestar ‘showroom’ is made of snow

January 19, 2023

Snow Space at the Arctic Circle

Located virtually on the Arctic Circle, the 12-meter-high snow building has been christened Snow Space. The structure stands among other buildings and was inspired by Polestar’s cube-shaped headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden. The Snow Space is the second Polestar Space in Finland and one of approximately 130 Polestar Spaces worldwide.

“Polestar’s retail model is digital-first, with an important role for the Spaces where visitors can experience the models and the brand live and test drive them,” the spokesperson said.

Polestar Snow Space in detail:

Behind the two-meter-thick snow walls of the Snow Space, the all-electric Polestar 2 can be admired. Local ice artists also recreated car parts ranging from rims to brakes. About 3,000 cubic meters of snow borrowed from the neighboring Ounasvaara ski resort was used for construction.

Snow returning soon

To reduce emissions during construction work, electric trucks were used to transport the snow and other construction materials. Five people worked on this project for a total of six weeks. Construction of the structure took a total of three weeks. The snow used for the structure will be returned when the temporary Space closes its doors on Feb. 26, 2023. The exterior dimensions of the Snow Space are 12x12x12 meters.
