This is what the new Hyundai Kona costs
30 grand
After introducing the state-of-the-art Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6, the Koreans are introducing yet another car with striking, futuristic looks: the new Kona. The brand is now sticking a price tag on the newcomer. A new Kona comes from just under 30 grand: 29,995 euros. The private lease rate is from 519 euros per month incl. VAT (60 mont./10,000 km/yr.) and 435 euros for Operational Lease with the same term and annual mileage.
Mild-Hybrid
For this money, you drive a mild-hybrid version out of the showroom. You then get the equipment level i-Motion, which is already quite nice in the stuff. For example, it features cruise control, a rearview camera, parking sensors, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen with navigation, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, a host of controls on the steering wheel, air conditioning and active lane assist.
Powertrain
The manual transmission Kona Mild-Hybrid is powered by a 120-hp 1.0-liter T-GDI gasoline engine with 48-volt mild hybrid technology. The mild-hybrid powertrain supports the internal combustion engine with extra torque and allows the engine to kick in faster and smoother in slow-moving and stationary traffic.
Kona Hybrid
For the Kona Hybrid, the Koreans are asking a minimum of 33,995 euros. Hyundai delivers the Kona Hybrid with a 1.6-liter T-GDI gasoline engine mated to a 6-speed DCT dual-clutch automatic transmission and a 43.5-hp electric motor that gets its power from a 1.56 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery. The Kona Hybrid’s system output is 141 hp (104 kW). As mentioned, the electric Kona will come to our country later, but is already available for reservation.
