This is what the new Citroën C3 with gasoline engine costs
New Citroën C3 in a nutshell
The new Citroën C3 succeeds an absolute bestseller. Since 2016, Citroën sold more than 1.5 million units of the previous generation C3 in the European market. The new C3 builds on the qualities of the previous generation. The car represents a unique offering in the class of B-segment hatchbacks. Thanks to its innovative, modern and smart concept, the car appeals to a wide audience. The new Citroën C3 makes mobility affordable, regardless of powertrain. The modularity of the SmartCar platform allows Citroën to offer multiple powertrains on one platform; from gasoline and 48V hybrid to 100% electric.
Citroën Advanced Comfort
On top of that, the new C3 also offers a number of other USPs. For example, the compact hatchback comes standard with Citroën Advanced Comfort suspension with Progressive Hydraulic Cushions, complementing the redesigned Advanced Comfort seats and the new C Zen Lounge dashboard architecture. Characteristic of this interior concept is the provision of tranquility and overview, thanks to minimalist design, a compact steering wheel and the Citroën Head-Up Display.
The increased ground clearance and height (compared to its predecessor) of the car makes getting in and out even easier. The car’s length is still modest at 4.01 meters. Of course, the compact family car is also available with features that make every drive relaxing. These include 3D connected navigation system with a 10-inch touchscreen, automatic air conditioning, wireless phone charging and Screen Mirroring support.
Citroen C3 with turbocharged gasoline engine
The 1.2l Turbo is a three-cylinder 1.2-liter turbocharged gasoline engine rated at 74 kW (100 hp) and is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. This engine has been completely redesigned to provide the best performance and reliability. Among other things, the distribution chain is completely newly developed. The Citroën C3 1.2l Turbo sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 183 km/h. The registration weight comes out to 1,126 kilograms, which also makes the road tax favorable. This engine variant has a braked towing weight of 600 kilograms and a drawbar load of 61 kilograms. In the WLTP mixed cycle, the C3 1.2l Turbo achieves combined emissions of 127-128 g CO2/km (subject to homologation).
Also as HYBRID 100
Citroën is expanding the engine lineup of the new C3 later in 2024 with a new Hybrid 100 powertrain with 48V technology. This compact, lightweight and affordable solution is particularly suitable for urban use, where the car can cover up to 50% of trips electrically. Charging is not necessary. The hybrid powertrain takes all the worry out of it and allows driving in environmental zones.
The Hybrid 100 combines the advantages of gasoline and electric with two engines that work together or separately, automatically and without driver intervention. The hybrid 48V technology he consists of a 48V lithium-ion battery that recharges during certain driving phases, a completely new 3-cylinder 74 kW (100 hp) gasoline engine – specifically designed for hybrid applications – and a new electrified ë-DCS6 dual-clutch gearbox, which incorporates a 21 kW (28 hp) and 55 Nm electric motor manufactured in France. This was done to save space and mass. The result is more driving pleasure while reducing consumption and emissions by almost 10% compared to an equivalent gasoline version.
The Hybrid 100 offers a smooth ride in real-world conditions and, thanks to a system torque of 205 Nm (55 Nm for the electric motor), provides sufficient tractive force even at lower speeds. During brisk acceleration, the electric motor delivers an additional 9 kW (about 12 hp) of power for extra smoothness. In the combined WLTP cycle, the Hybrid 100 powertrain achieves CO2 emissions of 117 g/km.
