Citroën (ë)-C3 Aircross

Like the C3, the Citroën C3 Aircross features the French brand’s new design language. So: lots of clean lines and right angles. Both the front and rear lights feature three elongated LED elements, just like the C3. The front of the new Citroën C3 Aircross features vertical color clips that customers can change as they wish. Also on the front end is the new Citroën logo, which Citroën unveiled in 2021 on the Oli concept car and has since applied to the ë-C3 and C3. The 1.79-meter-wide C3 Aircross further looks extra wide with muscular fenders and large wheels. The wheel arches are also inspired by the design concept for the ë-C3 and C3. There is a choice of six colors – Black Perla Nera, Mercury Grey, Elixir Red, Monte Carlo Blue, Polar White and Montana Green – combined with a white or black roof (depending on the color chosen).

SUV

The big difference from the C3? Its dimensions. The C3 Aircross is a compact SUV, with a length of 4.39 meters and a wheelbase of 2.67 meters. As a five-passenger version, it offers plenty of space in the second row of seats as well as 460 liters of luggage space. It also comes with a third row of seats. That leaves only 40 liters of luggage space, but allows you to travel nicely with seven people. Both versions have the same body and similar dimensions. The car features new Advanced Comfort seats with 10 to 15 mm of extra foam and, according to the French, their design offers more lateral support and comfort.

Luggage space

So with the five-passenger version with the bench seat upright, you have 460 liters of luggage space. It is easily accessible and has a low, flat threshold. The cargo floor is adjustable on two levels, allowing a completely flat floor to be created when both parts of the backrest are folded down. In this configuration, the cargo volume is 1,600 liters.

A man and a woman, both with bicycles, are seen through the open rear of a Citroën ë-C3 Aircross near a mountain and coastal landscape. The man is adjusting something on his bike, while the woman stands next to him. For just 25,850 euros, this versatile seven-seater is yours.

Seven President

The seven-seat version of the C3 Aircross is unique in the segment. How do you get seven people into a B-segment car? Simply, the vertical rear ensures that there is plenty of room for passengers in the third row. The wide rear doors and easily fold-down second row of seats (40:60) facilitate access to the third row of seats. This consists of two seats with a 50:50 split folding backrest. Great attention has also been paid to comfort in the third row of seats with head and armrests, cup holders and a USB connection.

Powertrains

The Citroën C3 Aircross offers a choice of powertrains. The model is based on the Smart Car platform that accommodates internal combustion, hybrid and fully electric powertrains.

C3 Aircross Hybrid

The hybrid C3 Aircross Hybrid 136 features an e-DCT automatic transmission paired with a latest-generation 1.2 PureTech engine developed specifically for hybrid use. The 1,199 cm³ three-cylinder engine – with a variable geometry turbocharger – has an output of 100 kW (136 hp). Integrated into the e-DCT dual-clutch transmission is an electric motor (21 kW/28 hp) powered by an underfloor 48-volt battery.

The electric motor supports the internal combustion engine to reduce fuel consumption andCO2 emissions. The battery is charged during braking and throttle release. It is possible to drive fully electric at lower speeds. As a result, the averageCO2 emissions of the hybrid version are only 124 g/km. This powertrain is available in both the five- and seven-seat C3 Aircross.

The Citroën C3 Aircross also comes with a 75 kW (100 hp) turbocharged gasoline engine. This three-cylinder PureTech Turbo 100 engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission.

ë-C3 Aircross

The new French SUV also comes with an all-electric powertrain. We are talking about the ë-C3 Aircross. The five-seater is Citroën’s first electric SUV in the B-SUV segment. This version is powered by an 83 kW (113 hp) electric motor and has a 44 kWh battery, good for an estimated range of 300 kilometers and a top speed of 145 km/h. AC charging can handle up to 11 kW and with a DC charger it can handle up to 100 kW of charging power. A version with a larger battery will appear in 2025, giving a range of more than 400 kilometers.

Floating carpet

The new C3 Aircross comes standard with Citroën Advanced Comfort suspension, which should ensure an extra pleasant, comfortable driving experience. This suspension system works with so-called Progressive Hydraulic Cushions. These progressive hydraulic “bump stops” work in conjunction with the shock absorbers and suspension, replacing the mechanical stops typically used. The system works in two stages. For light (de)compression, the spring and shock absorber control vertical movements together, without the help of the hydraulic stops. At high impact, the spring and shock absorber work together with the hydraulic stops to gradually slow body motion and eliminate shock at the end of the suspension range. As opposed to a mechanical stop that absorbs energy and then returns some of it as shock. The “floating carpet” effect so important to Citroën is clearly felt, according to the brand.

The interior

The dashboard – also featuring clean lines and angles – is divided into two levels: technical elements at the top and comfort at the bottom. It is covered with a special fabric and embellished on both sides with warm lighting – the “Sofa Design. In the upper part, the absence of knobs and levers creates a sleek appearance. Essential driving information is projected in a new head-up display. The small multifunction handlebar is adjustable in height and angle. The information display against the bottom of the windshield is a first for a family SUV. On it, the driver sees all the information he needs without taking his eyes off the road.

C3 Aircross You

The C3 Aircross in You trim does not have a large screen and features the Smartphone Station where a smartphone can be placed. Wireless NFC technology allows drivers to access services on their smartphones. He can control those with voice commands. He also has access to the radio, playlists and navigation. There are also control buttons on the wheel, and the Home button allows a quick return to the app’s home page.
