This is the all-new Renault Rafale
The Renault Rafale
The Renault Rafale is a sporty SUV coupe and the first all-new model designed entirely according to the French brand’s new design language. The design is characterized by many sharp and clean angles. The sporty look is enhanced by the sloping roofline and streamlined body, while the sharp lines on the sides, angular headlights and arrow-shaped daytime running lights emphasize the car’s powerful character.
Dimensions
The new Renault Rafale is 4.71 meters long and 1.86 meters wide, dimensions that make it stand out in the D-segment. Furthermore, it is 1.61 meters tall, which adds to the impression of a sporty SUV. The wheelbase of 2.74 meters is similar to that of the new Espace. Despite the sloping roofline, the rear occupants’ headroom is not adversely affected, according to the brand. The rear window is tilted 17 degrees, which not only eliminates the need for a windshield wiper, but also has a beneficial effect on aerodynamics.
His name
Rafale is the name for a well-known wind, but, but, also refers to Renault’s rich history in aviation and to the Caudron-Renault Rafale in particular: a single-seat racing plane that achieved a speed record of 445 mph in 1934. In those days, all aircraft were named after a well-known wind.
Powertrain
The Rafale features the familiar Renault E-Tech full hybrid powertrain. This power source produces an output of 147 kW (200 hp). In the future there will be an extra powerful E-Tech 4×4 version with 220 kW (300 hp). The Renault Rafale will enter the market in spring 2024.
