Mitsubishi XFC Concept possibly coming to Europe
Electrified variant Mitsubishi XFC Concept
“We will introduce the new Mitsubishi XFC Concept – a compact SUV – in ASEAN markets, including Vietnam in fiscal 2023,” said Takao Kato, president and chief executive officer of Mitsubishi Motors. “In the future, we will add an electrified variant to the lineup. We also want to introduce it in regions outside ASEAN. We hope to grow the model from a vehicle for the ASEAN market to a global strategic vehicle, making it a core model just like the sales topper Xpander crossover MPV.”
Addition to ASEAN range
The production version of the Mitsubishi XFC Concept is initially part of the current ASEAN range. The car complements Mitsubishi Motors’ range of products tailored to the ASEAN market. Those are the Triton pickup, the mid-size SUV Pajero Sport, the Outlander and Outlander PHEV, Xpander and Xpander Cross, the Mirage compact hatchback and the Attrage sedan based on that Mirage.
As top executive Kato indicated, an electrified version will follow later. It has lower CO2 emissions, making it interesting for Europe.
Driving mode Wet
With plenty of ground clearance and four driving modes – Normal, Wet, Gravel and Mud – the Mitsubishi XFC Concept is made for people who occasionally go on adventures, too. Driving mode Nat – first introduced in a Mitsubishi vehicle – was designed with use in ASEAN countries in mind. The reason can be guessed: those drawers regularly experience flooding and heavy rainfall.
Technical specifications Mitsubishi has not released of the XFC Concept. That the model looks production-ready is beyond question.
