Mazda Iconic SP: is this the future Mazda MX-5?

According to its makers, the MAZDA ICONIC SP is a new kind of compact sports car concept, designed to respond to the new era and respond to the emotions of customers who “love cars” and crave “a car that offers driving pleasure.
The powertrain features Mazda’s unique two-rotor rotary EV system, which remains compact and thus offers a high degree of layout flexibility, giving the concept model a low center of gravity to improve driving performance.
Batteries are charged by a recyclable energy source and the two-rotor rotary engine used for power generation is powered by carbon-neutral fuel. The vibrant red color is called Viola Red.

The two-rotor rotary EV system, which uses a highly scalable rotary engine that can burn different fuels such as hydrogen, generates electricity with carbon-neutral fuel. Moreover, when the battery is charged with electricity from renewable energy, it is possible to drive virtually carbon-neutral.
Weight distribution
The high power generated by the rotating EV system with two rotors, the proportions of the lower center of gravity and the weight distribution of about 50:50 provide excellent driving performance. Moreover, it can – even though it is a sports car – provide power during free time away from home and in times of disaster. The body color “VIOLA RED” was created based on Mazda’s desire to “cherish the color red.
Several MX-5 models were present during the presentation of the Iconic SP. This suggests that we are going to see elements of this study model on a next-generation Mazda MX-5, possibly as early as the NE generation. Currently, Mazda supplies the ND generation.
