Lamborghini Revuelto: A Lamborghini with front-wheel drive?
Lamborghini Revuelto: all new
A special moment for Lamborghini, as the brand presents the successor to the successful and already iconic Aventador with the Revuelto. After a whole bunch of teasers and cryptic messages on social media, the world now gets to behold the new Lamborghini Revuelto. And what a car it turned out to be. Staying is the V12 engine, but Lamborghini is now adding hybrid technology with as many as three electric motors. It has to be, or else the Revuelto won’t fit these days of electrification. In this article, we go into all the details about this Italian thoroughbred.
This is how you pronounce the name
Lamborghini developed a completely new 6.5-liter V12 engine for the Revuelto – the name is pronounced “rev-ew-el-tow” – supplemented by three electric motors. System power comes out to 1,000.7 hp, so we round that up nicely to 1,001 hp. The V12 engine is good for 813 horsepower at 9,250 rpm. Turbocharged, the twelve-cylinder does not have any; it breathes naturally.
EV mode
Shifting is done with a new eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The Lamborghini involves a plug-in hybrid. So to drive longer distances electrically, the battery must be charged. In EV mode, only the front wheels are driven with an output of 180 hp. This makes the first front-wheel-drive Lamborghini a reality. The 3.8 kWh battery pack is located in the transmission tunnel. The battery pack is small enough that the power source can recharge it in six minutes.
Performance Lamborghini Revuelto
Performance then. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 2.5 seconds and the top speed comes out to about 347 km/h. All that power Lamborghini packs very sexily into a beautifully streamlined body. The car is more angular than its predecessor and has several lines, especially at the front and rear. The Italians found inspiration for the design from the Countach, Diablo, Aventador and elements from aviation. Just google F-35 Lightning II and you’ll immediately understand what Lamborghini got hot about. Dirty of exhausts the Revuelto is not, as it has two giant “chutes.
hefty tires
Compared to the Aventador, the Revuelto is as much as 61 percent more efficient and generates as much as 66 percent more downforce. Rolls the car on fors Bridgestone Potenza Sport rubber. In front we detect tires in size 265/35-20 and in the rear it is even 345/30-21. You can also order 265/30-R21 tires in the front and 355/25-R22 in the rear. There is a choice of four hundred different body colors, and of course, for a generous fee, there is also plenty of room for personalization.
Interior
The interior is truly driver focused, but Lamborghini is also thinking about the passenger. Because yes: this supercar has a 9.1-inch “passenger display,” just as competitor Ferrari also employs in its models. Thus, the co-driver has visibility of speed, acceleration and rpm. Still fun. The infotainment system also gets a major upgrade. The touch display on the center console measures 8.4-inches, and as a driver you look out at a 12.3-inch fully customizable display.
Market launch
In short: a supercar that is totally up to date, both in terms of look and feel, but also when it comes to powertrain technology. Delivery is expected to begin in late 2023. Prices Lamborghini will announce later. Count on 400,000 euros or more.
