Joe Biden’s car fleet – U.S. president is a true petrolhead
Presidential bolide
We begin this list, of course, with the presidential limousine, better known as “The Beast. A company car, in other words. As president of the most powerful country in the world, Joe Biden is always transported in this armored car. ‘The Beast,’ as the limousine has been called for years, is a converted Cadillac. The car has many gadgets so that the president is protected from any threat at all times. The handles can deliver electric shocks to potential burglars, and the limousine is also heavily armored. The exact price? It is estimated that such a Cadillac limousine costs $2 million each.
Mercedes-Benz 190SL
The only “foreign” car in Biden’s collection is a Mercedes-Benz 190SL. The German classic is powered by a 1.9-liter four-cylinder. The power output of 105 hp is sufficient, as the car weighs only 1,160 kilograms. Like Biden, the car is coming of age. He first came out in 1955.
Chevrolet Corvette Stingray
This is Biden’s favorite car: the Corvette C2 Stingray. The one you see below in the video he bought new, when it just came on the market. It is a beautiful convertible, equipped with a 350-hp V8 that sends all the power to the rear wheels. In an interview with the Jay Leno, Biden said, he drove it 160 miles per hour, or 257 kilometers per hour in conversion. Biden admits to the American television host that he loves speed. The video below shows Biden on a closed stretch of road – which means he is not allowed on public roads as president – giving his American sports car a hard time.
Plymouth Cranbook Convertible
Joe Biden is not the youngest anymore and it shows in his car collection. He loves classics. In addition to his old Corvette and Mercedes-Benz, he is also the proud owner of a Plymouth Cranbook Convertible. So also a convertible. Under the hood is a lazy 3.6-liter six-cylinder. The car is best known for its role in the 1958 science fiction film The Blob.
Electric car
Biden may be a true petrolhead, but he obviously has to lead by example. Therefore, the president regularly promotes electric cars. This takes no effort on his part because, as mentioned, he loves fast cars. So you can see below how he kicks a 1,000-hp Hummer EV full on its tail.
