Hyundai Ioniq 6 has considerable range
Maximum range Hyundai Ioniq 6
The Hyundai Ioniq 6 can travel up to 614 kilometers on a single battery charge, according to the WLTP test cycle. This puts the Ioniq 6 over 100 kilometers farther than the Ioniq 5, with which the Ioniq 6 shares its E-GMP platform. Of course, that enormous range does not apply to all versions of the Ioniq 6. After all, 614 kilometers are only going to be achievable if you choose the Long Range with rear-wheel drive and 18-inch wheels. In that case, the capacity of the battery pack is 77.4 kWh and power consumption then theoretically comes to 14.3 kWh per 100 kilometers.
If you think 18-inch is a bit too small a wheel size, you have to sacrifice quite a bit when it comes to range. In fact, with 20-inch wheels, the Ioniq 6 Long Range 2WD will still get “only” 545 kilometers.
The most efficient Ioniq 6
While the Long Range 2WD has the greatest range within the Ioniq 6 offering, it is not the most efficient version in terms of power consumption. That honor is reserved for the Ioniq 6 Standard with its smaller 53 kWh battery. The power consumption of this variant, at 13.9 kWh per 100 kilometers, is just a bit lower than that of the Long Range. The smaller battery does reduce your range, but a range of 429 kilometers is still nothing to be ashamed of.
All versions
At the top of the ranking of the Ioniq 6 offerings is the Long Range with all-wheel drive. This 325 hp and 605 Nm strong top version with two electric motors can travel a maximum of 583 kilometers, so in terms of range it has to concede a bit to the 2WD. Below we list all versions of the Ioniq 6 with their corresponding range.
- Ioniq 6 Standard 2WD (53 kWh, 18-inch): 429 km, 13.9 kWh / 100 km
- Ioniq 6 Long Range 2WD (77.4 kWh, 18-inch): 614 km, 14.3 kWh / 100 km
- Ioniq 6 Long Range 2WD (77.4 kWh, 20-inch): 545 km, 16.0 kWh / 100 km
- Ioniq 6 Long Range AWD (77.4 kWh, 18-inch): 583 km, 15.1 kWh / 100 km
- Ioniq 6 Long Range AWD (77.4 kWh, 20-inch): 519 km, 13.9 kWh / 100 km
