Hybrid technology in Toyota Corolla Cross now more accessible

Toyota Corolla Cross 1.8 Hybrid

Until now, the Toyota Corolla Cross was only as a 2.0 High Power Hybrid with 145 kW (197 hp). At 103 kW (140 hp), the 1.8 Hybrid delivers considerably less power, but is also a lot cheaper. Indeed, prices start at 37,295 euros, where the extra powerful hybrid powertrain costs a minimum of 41,095 euros. That’s a price difference of 3,800 euros.

Three different versions

The Toyota Corolla Cross as 1.8 Hybrid comes in three different trims. The “Active” constitutes the base version (37,295 euros). This variant’s features include LED lighting, Climate Control, 17-inch alloy wheels, power windows, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and the Toyota Smart Connect multimedia system with 10.5-inch display and Cloud navigation.

Toyota Safety Sense 3, with Automatic High Beam (AHB); automatic high and low beam switching, Emergency Driver Stop System, Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control (IACC), Lane Departure Alert, Lane Trace Assist and fatigue recognition and Pre-Collision System that includes detection for bicyclists (day) and pedestrians (day+night), Emergency Steering Assist and Intersection Turn Assist, is also standard.

Dynamic

As a Corolla Cross Dynamic, equipment is further enhanced with Smart Entry (driver, passenger and tailgate), Privacy Glass, a chrome trim above the side windows, 18-inch alloy wheels and sequential LED front turn signals to add. This version can be ordered from 39,195 euros.

Style

One step higher is the “Style. On top of the Dynamic’s equipment, this version also has more luxurious upholstery with black faux leather accents, a wireless phone charger, adjustable front seat heaters and a power tailgate. The range of driving assistance systems is further expanded to include Blind Spot Monitor (BSM), front and rear parking sensors with pedestrian detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) rear including braking function and Safe Exit Assist. This version can be ordered from 41,395 euros.

Options

Optionally, the Corolla Cross 1.8 Hybrid Style can be equipped with the €1,095 Premium Pack. This package includes black leather upholstery and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. A panoramic roof is optional on the 1.8 Hybrid Style, when the Premium Pack is chosen.

Starting in the second half of 2023, the first examples of the Corolla Cross will be delivered with the 1.8 Hybrid.
