Why the chances of Toyota coming out with a Prius Touring now are extremely slim? Simple, the car would compete too much with the Toyota Corolla Touring Sports. Moreover, the Prius was developed as a true eco-car with an ideal streamline. That streamline is lost with a Touring body.
There did exist a Prius MPV
Still, Toyota has delivered the Prius Wagon in the past, later renamed Prius+. This was more of an MPV variant with seven seats. There has been no follow-up to this due to the popularity of SUVs.
