Five millionth Kia rolled off the assembly line in Slovakia

At the Kia factory in Slovakia this week, the five millionth car rolled off the assembly line. The five millionth Kia built in Slovakia is a Sportage. This is not a coincidence. In fact, more than half of the five million cars produced at the plant are Sportages. The SUV has been produced at the Slovakia plant since the second generation.

Export countries

Ceed models followed closely behind, with total production exceeding 2.1 million units. Kia Slovakia currently produces nearly 1,500 units of the Ceed and Sportage per day. In recent years, Britain, Germany, Sweden and Spain have been the largest exporting countries.

Region Function

Kia Slovakia has developed into a major player in the region over the past decades. The plant currently employs about 3,800 people, and workers remain there for an average of 11 years. Some 1,300 employees have been working for Kia Slovakia for more than 15 years. Therefore, over the past 20 years, the company has proven to be a stable employer and a strategic partner of the city of Žilina and surrounding communities.
