Color copper gains popularity
Copper as the house color
The color of copper seems to have been discovered by car manufacturers. At one car brand it is a house color, while another car manufacturer uses the color to give special versions extra allure. Why is copper so popular? It really is a fashion color, not only in car land. The color copper is also used for other products – think laptops and even hair dryers. Meanwhile, car manufacturers have also discovered the copper color.
Copper wires
Hyundai was one of the first brands to apply the copper color to a model. On the Hyundai IONIQ Electric, the “electric character” was emphasized by copper accents, inspired by the color of copper wires used worldwide as a carrier for electricity. So at Hyundai, there is a real philosophy behind it. Meanwhile, the IONIQ Electric no longer exists, but the color copper has remained within the Hyundai family. Because a model like the IONIQ 5 can even be ordered in a matte copper-colored paint.
Copper accents
Copper colors are also in demand at Dacia. In the Extreme versions of the Spring and Sandero, among others, you will find copper-colored accents on both the interior and exterior of the models. On the bumpers, for example, but also on the roof rails. At Dacia, there is no philosophy behind it, except that the copper color provides a sleek look.
Buyer on hypercar
Copper is also finding its way to the absolute top in automotive land. Bugatti has in fact composed for the Copper Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport for Tristan Tate, two-time European kickboxing champion, an Internet celebrity and best known as the brother of controversial influencer and four-time world kickboxing champion Andrew Tate. Tristan Tate has chosen a copper exterior color where we also see copper colors in the interior. According to Bugatti, the Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport is “fully customized.” The French hypercar manufacturer carefully checked the car for the smallest paint imperfections, as only perfect cars are allowed to leave the factory gates. This Bugatti is possibly the car with the most beautiful copper paint in the world.
Cupra: “Copper has a warm feel”
Yet there is one brand where the copper color has become the house color. Then, of course, we are talking about Cupra, part of the Volkswagen Group. According to CUPRA, the copper color provides a warm color that appears much less cold and much more human than cold aluminum. In addition, the copper color is also considered cool. Cupra often uses the copper color in combination with a dark petrol blue exterior color, so that the copper color is additionally emphasized.
Copper Edition
Cupra even has entire special editions dedicated to copper, such as the Born Copper Edition. This electric car has 20-inch “Blizzard Copper” wheels and various other copper-colored accents. Other Cupra models also feature copper accents. Not only on the outside of the car, but especially in the interior.
