The most successful team boss in Formula 1 for a long time was Toto Wolff. Before that – when Sebastian Vettel was still driving for Red Bull Racing – for several years it was Christian Horner. Thanks in part to Max Verstappen and a rock-solid team, the Red Bull team boss is now back at the top and thus extra in the spotlight.
Switch to Ferrari
In Formula One, teams are constantly trying to snatch talented contributors from other teams, even at a high level. Ferrari is diligently searching for a new team boss after management lost confidence in Mattia Binotto. Ferrari is looking for someone who can finally bring the team back to the absolute top. According to rumors, the Italians have their eye on Horner and would like to richly reward him for a switch.
Christian Horner
To Sky Sports, Horner reveals that he has no interest in moving to Italy: “I have been very committed to Red Bull since the beginning. We are obviously very close to each other”. Horner is not surprised about Binotto’s resignation: “It doesn’t really come as a surprise. I think it’s their sixth team boss since I started at Red Bull in 2005. It’s difficult for him, of course. They had a great car this year and were certainly competitive. But it’s Ferrari’s choice”. In the video below, you can see his entire reaction in front of Sky Sports’ cameras.
