After the Passat was thoroughly modernized in 2010, it was time for a facelift for the CC in 2012. The car received a new front and rear to match the rest of the Volkswagen range. In addition, the type name was shortened to just ‘CC’, in order to create more distance from the Passat. However, the CC never managed to achieve the expected sales numbers. When sales had slumped even further, it was time to do something different, with a new model: the Arteon.
up
The Arteon came on the market in 2017. The car still had a similar body shape, but was now positioned higher in the market, emphatically as a model above the Passat. The Arteon is the new flagship for the brand in the European model range. Volkswagen seems to be on the right track with the Arteon: the car clearly sells better than the CC. In 2020, the Arteon underwent a facelift and a new body style also appeared: the Shooting Brake.
