BMW 8 series coupe

When the BMW 6 Series went out of production in 1989, the BMW 8 Series appeared the following year, which became better known under its type names 840 and 850. However, the 8 Series was not a direct successor to the 6, as it was positioned higher in the market with a higher price and also offered better performance. This model lasted until 1999 and received no successor.

Again

In 2018, history is repeating itself. The 6 Series went out of production and is being replaced by the reintroduced 8 Series. This time, however, it is a direct successor, because it comes down to BMW making the 6 Series even more luxurious and placing it higher in the model line-up. The car is now in fact the coupé version of the 7 Series, which is why the car now listens to the name 8 Series.

Richly equipped

The 8 Series was presented on the basis of the BMW Concept 8 Series in 2017, a concept car that also immediately presented the brand’s new design language. We already see this on several BMW models. Like the 7 Series, the 8 Series is also packed with the latest technology, including integration for Skype and Microsoft Office. Once again, the 8 Series is available in the 840 and 850 versions, history repeats itself once again.

Family expansion

In addition to the Coupé and Cabrio, the range of the 8 Series was also expanded with a Gran Coupé variant, as was also the case with predecessor 6 Series. A fully-fledged M8 version is certainly still in the planning.
