Brixton Motorcycles gets 1000cc cruiser from China

October 20, 2022

The supply of Chinese-built motorcycles is growing. In part, they are sold in our area under our own brand names, such as CF Moto and SWM. You can also see that the Chinese motorcycle industry has acquired the rights to European brand names, such as Benelli and Moto Morini. One thing is certain, all manufacturers understand that you have to arrive in Europe with quality stuff, finished with first-class brakes and suspension.

Chinese and Austrian

UK-based Brixton Motorcycles is doing business with Chinese manufacturer Gaokin Moto. This then concerns only production, as Brixton uses the services of the Austrian KSR Group for development. This is one of the leading importers of two-wheeled vehicles in Europe, with more than 60,000 sold annually under the Brixton Motorcycles, Motron Motorcycles, Malaguti and Lambretta brands.

Brixton Motorcycles?

Brixton already supplies quite a variety of retro and naked bikes from 125 to 1200 cc. A handful of dealers are also available in the Netherlands. Motorradonline now reports the arrival of the Thor 1000 cruiser. A cool thing it is and equipped with top stuff. According to the German website, we can expect this model in 2023.

Brixton GK 1000 Thor

The Brixton GK 1000 Thor, as its full name reads, is newly developed from wheel to saddle. The V twin engine attracts immediate attention and the design of the machine is modern and sleek. The frame and swing arm are made of aluminum. The rear shock and upside down front fork are from Kayaba. Brakes were sourced from Spain’s J.Juan with a front disc diameter of 320 mm and rear of 300 mm.

80 degree V twin of 90 hp

The 80-degree V twin produces 90 hp at 7,200 rpm and 95 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. The motor drives the rear wheel via a toothed belt, so the drive is fairly maintenance-free. Furthermore, the GK 1000 Thor has adjustable clutch and brake lever, color display, cruise control and LED lights. The price in China is about 8,200 euros converted. A price for Europe is not yet available, but it may well become attractive. To be continued.
