Audi A6 Limousine (2025): business sedan par excellence

April 15, 2025

Audi A6 Limousine: sleek lines

The new A6 Limousine is 4.99 meters long, 60 millimeters longer than its predecessor. The wheelbase is 2.92 meters, providing plenty of interior space. The design is recognizably Audi, with a low-slung Singleframe grille, narrow LED light units and a robust rear end. The coefficient of air resistance is just 0.23 – a value Audi says has not been achieved before by a fuel-engine model.

Premium Platform Combustion

Behind these shapes is the Premium Platform Combustion (PPC). This platform is shared by several of Audi’s models, including the new Q5 and A5. The A6 Limousine further uses the E³ 1.2 electronics platform. With it, features such as remote software updates and extensive digital options are available.

Digitization without excess

The interior exudes tranquility and overview. Audi calls the design “human centric”: all functions are focused on the user. The panoramic MMI display, slightly curved and with oeld technology, acts as the central control panel. The Audi Virtual Cockpit has a screen diagonal of 11.9 inches; the main screen measures 14.5 inches. An additional 10.9-inch screen is optionally available for the passenger.

On it, videos can be streamed and websites visited, among other things. A privacy mode prevents the driver from being distracted while driving. At the same time, high-quality materials such as Cascade fabric and Dinamica microfiber – both largely made from recycled materials – create a warm atmosphere on board.

From classic to sustainable

With the introduction of the so-called “soft wrap,” a horizontal design accent that runs across the dashboard, Audi aims to make the interior feel extra spacious. Elements such as door trim, armrests and decor strips are available in sustainable variants. For example, the wood for the trim comes from apple trees that no longer bear fruit.

So the new A6 Limousine is not only digital and sleekly designed, but also makes strides in terms of circularity. That fits into a broader picture of how Audi plans to make its models more sustainable in the coming years, including in segments where gasoline and hybrid powertrains are still the norm.

Audi A6 Limousine: motorization and versions

At its Dutch launch on April 17, the A6 Limousine will be the first to come with a 150 kW (204 hp) turbocharged TFSI engine. This is mated to a seven-speed S tronic automatic transmission. Other plug-in hybrid variants will soon follow. Those will get Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive and all-wheel steering as standard.

Starting prices start at 64,990 euros for the Pro Line edition. Above that come the Advanced edition (from 68,990 euros) and the S edition (from 72,990 euros), each offering additional equipment and sporty touches. We are happy to explain.

The Audi A6 Limousine Pro Line’s standard features include 17-inch alloy wheels, front LED lighting, aluminum roof rail, Audi phone box light, power tailgate, all-round parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, anti-theft alarm, Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus, MMI Experience Plus, Audi Sound System, comfort key, front seat heater and automatic air conditioning.

Retrospective: from Audi 100 to A6

The A6 Limousine has been a fixture in the business segment for decades. The origins of the model lie with the Audi 100, introduced in 1968. In 1994, this mid-size car got a name change and continued as the Audi A6. Since then, five generations have appeared, each with its own technical innovations and design language.

The A6 was long known for its solidity, understated luxury and generous engine lineup. In the 2000s, the car became popular among both business and private lease drivers. With the latest edition, Audi is trying to future-proof the A6 again, without abandoning its classic sedan values.
