E-Power, what is that?

In case you missed it, Nissan models that feature e-POWER technology always drive electric, without the need to charge them. How does that work? The wheels are always driven via an electric motor. This gives you the benefits of electric driving: smooth, linear acceleration and a quiet powertrain. Why do you never have to load? Simple: under the hood there is also a gasoline engine, which generates power for the electric motor. In addition, the system also recovers energy through regeneration during coasting and braking. So charging is not necessary, you just fill up the tank in a few minutes.

There are already 100,000 vehicles on the road in Europe using this technology. These are 65,367 units of the Qashqai and 34,663 of the X-Trail. Feedback from e-POWER customers shows that they especially appreciate the silence and easy driving.

The powertrain not only allows customers to travel long distances with an electric motor, but towing is also not a problem. The Nissan X-Trail E-Power can tow up to 1,800 kilograms, which is why it was named “Towing Car of the Year 2023” by the ANWB Camping Champion.
