Alfa Romeo will come out with new sports car in 2023
Alfa Romeo goes electric
Like almost all car brands, Alfa Romeo has announced that they are moving toward producing only electric cars. This policy will begin at Alfa Romeo in the year 2027. So although the Italians are going all-electric in the near future, they are working on a (perhaps last) gasoline-powered sports car. Although we know little yet, rumors suggest it should be a mid-engine car with a carbon fiber chassis. Two good ingredients for a fine sports car.
Exclusive toy
Alfa Romeo boss Jean-Philippe Imparato says it will be an exclusive car, which will not be for everyone. In short: it will be extremely expensive. The powertrain of the new sports car is not yet known, but it could well be an upgraded version of the V6 TwinTurbo from the Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio. This 2.9-liter gasoline engine, as found in the Giulia and Stelvio, is good for 510 horsepower.
November
The director of Alfa Romeo says the brand is working on prototypes that hint at the brand’s sporting past. ‘In each of our prototypes, you will always find parts of our DNA and our origins. You will be able to see it clearly and quickly, and when you will see the new car it will make you think of our past.’ True Alfisti will have to be patient for a while: more will be known about the new model in November.
Previous sports cars from Alfa Romeo
In the recent past, the Italian brand has released two wonderful sports cars: 4C and the 8C. Both sports cars came as both coupes and spiders. The 8C is powered by a V8 engine good for 450 horsepower. The 8C is limited to 500 units of both the Spider and Coupe, and has soared in value in recent years and now falls into the priceless category. The 4C is powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, producing 240 hp.
