10 highlights of the IAA Munich 2023
1 – BMW Vision Neue Klasse
By 2025, this BMW Vision Neue Klasse will be a reality. Presumably, the production version differs little from the concept car shown at IAA Munich 2023. With the model, BMW is setting new standards in electric driving, sustainability and connectivity.
2 – MG Cyberster
The MG Cyberster may be seen as the modern reincarnation of the iconic MG B. Although the new MG has nothing to do with the MG of old, it is nice that the Chinese owner values the history of “Morris Garages. The MG Cyberster is an all-electric roadster. Unique are the wing doors.
3 – Volkswagen ID GTI Concept
GTI is not dead at all at Volkswagen. It looked like that for a while, but this Volkswagen ID GTI Concept proves that Volkswagen is serious about the GTI label for the foreseeable future. The green light has already been given, so the countdown can begin. The GTI outfitting will be based on the Volkswagen ID.2all coming in 2025. The faster GTI version will presumably come a few years later.
4 – Renault Scenic E-Tech Electric
One of the main firsts at the IAA in Munich is this new Renault Scenic E-Tech Electric. All-electric, of course, and in all respects a promising newcomer in which sustainability also played an important role in the design. There will be two battery variants with the top version going 620 kilometers on a full charge of power.
5 – Opel Experimental Concept
There will be a new Opel Manta, all-electric of course. According to sources within Opel, that new Manta is going to be very similar to this Opel Experimental Concept. So count on a crossover coupe. This Opel Experimental basically shows what Opel has in store for the future.
6 – Mercedes-Benz Concept CLA Class
Fast charging up to a range of 400 km in just 15 minutes, up to 750 kilometers of range and the completely new electric Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture (MMA) platform as a basis. In short, this Mercedes-Benz Concept CLA Class is promising. The countdown can begin.
7 – MINI Cooper E and MINI Cooper SE
The fifth generation MINI 3-door is a reality. MINI kicks off with two electric versions: the MINI Cooper E and the MINI Cooper SE. They will be built on a dedicated BEV platform, but MINI is also working on regular gasoline versions in the background. A five-door MINI hatchback is also planned, as is a MINI Cabrio.
8 – Smart #3
The Smart #3 will have its European premiere at IAA Munich 2023. It is Smart’s first all-electric SUV coupe. He will come to the Netherlands in early 2024. There is even a BRABUS version on the menu.
9 – MINI Countryman SE
Any more news from MINI? Yes indeed, because in Munich MINI also presented the completely new generation MINI Countryman. The all-electric variant also debuts here. It is pieces bigger, offers more comfort and also makes great strides in terms of sustainability of connectivity. It comes in MINI Countryman E and MINI Countryman SE ALL4 flavors.
10 – Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain
Mercedes-Benz has offered the E-Class Estate as an All-Terrain since 2017. A variant of the new generation E-Class will also come on higher legs. The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain looks stylish. It comes in three flavors: as the E 220 d 4MATIC, E 450 4MATIC and as the E 300 the 4MATIC. The latter is a plug-in hybrid.
