Une couleur qui lui allait \u00e9tonnamment bien. Il semble que les couleurs vives fassent lentement leur retour, du moins sur les listes d&rsquo;options. Il fut un temps o\u00f9 les couleurs vives abondaient dans les rues, m\u00eame dans le segment du luxe. Cette BMW 520 jaune vif de 1978, que nous avons trouv\u00e9e dans une zone industrielle de Lelystad, nous rappelle cette \u00e9poque. D&rsquo;ailleurs, nous constatons que la voiture a trouv\u00e9 un nouveau propri\u00e9taire peu de temps apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 rep\u00e9r\u00e9e. Elle est arriv\u00e9e sur le march\u00e9 en 1972 pour succ\u00e9der aux berlines Neue Klasse. Les temps sont \u00e9galement revivifi\u00e9s \u00e0 cet \u00e9gard, puisque BMW vient de pr\u00e9senter une nouvelle <a href=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/wanneer-komt-de-nieuwe-bmw-ix3-op-de-markt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Neue Klasse<\/a>. Mais passons. Pour son \u00e9poque, la S\u00e9rie 5 E12 \u00e9tait une voiture assez avanc\u00e9e. Par exemple, elle disposait d\u00e9j\u00e0 de zones de d\u00e9formation calcul\u00e9es par ordinateur. Elle pr\u00e9sentait \u00e9galement une r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 l&rsquo;air particuli\u00e8rement faible et un design issu d&rsquo;une collaboration entre de grands noms : Paul Bracq et Marcello Gandini.      <\/p>\n<p>Dans la bonne tradition BMW, la E12 disposait \u00e9galement d&rsquo;un ch\u00e2ssis avanc\u00e9, avec une suspension ind\u00e9pendante et un syst\u00e8me de freinage s\u00e9par\u00e9. Selon la version du moteur, la voiture \u00e9tait \u00e9quip\u00e9e de freins \u00e0 disque \u00e0 l&rsquo;avant et \u00e0 l&rsquo;arri\u00e8re, et la direction assist\u00e9e \u00e9tait de s\u00e9rie. La BMW 520 que nous avons aper\u00e7ue date du tout d\u00e9but. Au d\u00e9part, la d\u00e9signation \u00ab\u00a0520\u00a0\u00bb incluait un quatre cylindres de 2,0 litres d&rsquo;une puissance de 85 kW (116 ch). Il existait \u00e9galement une 520i \u00e0 injection, d&rsquo;une puissance de 96 kW (131 ch) (plus tard, la puissance a \u00e9t\u00e9 l\u00e9g\u00e8rement r\u00e9duite). Apr\u00e8s le lifting de 1976, la d\u00e9signation \u00ab\u00a0520\u00a0\u00bb a \u00e9t\u00e9 attribu\u00e9e \u00e0 un six cylindres en ligne de 2,0 litres d&rsquo;une puissance de 90 kW (123 ch). Cette derni\u00e8re version est parfois appel\u00e9e 520\/6.     <\/p>\n<p>Hormis la 518, la 520 \u00e9tait la version de base de la gamme. \u00c0 l&rsquo;autre extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 du spectre se trouvait la M535i de 160 kW (218 ch) avec un moteur six cylindres en ligne de 3,5 litres, pr\u00e9curseur de ce qui allait devenir la gamme BMW M5. <\/p>\n<h2><strong>Un lifting pour la s\u00e9rie 5<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>En 1976, la BMW S\u00e9rie 5 E12 a subi un lifting. \u00c0 premi\u00e8re vue, peu de choses changent, mais en y regardant de plus pr\u00e8s, on s&rsquo;aper\u00e7oit que c&rsquo;est encore mieux. Par exemple, les feux arri\u00e8re sont devenus l\u00e9g\u00e8rement plus larges et d\u00e9sormais, toutes les variantes de moteur ont un capot avec une partie centrale l\u00e9g\u00e8rement plus haute. Auparavant, seuls les mod\u00e8les \u00e0 six cylindres en \u00e9taient dot\u00e9s. M\u00eame le couvercle du r\u00e9servoir a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9plac\u00e9 : il est pass\u00e9 du feu arri\u00e8re droit \u00e0 l&rsquo;aile droite.
