Au cours de cette p\u00e9riode, le mod\u00e8le est pass\u00e9 de la cat\u00e9gorie compacte \u00e0 la cat\u00e9gorie moyenne. Avec un total de plus de cinq millions d&rsquo;unit\u00e9s, il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;une ligne de mod\u00e8les \u00e0 succ\u00e8s.  <\/p>\n<h2><strong>Le sp\u00e9cimen tachet\u00e9<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Dans le village de Bergen, en Hollande du Nord, nous avons vu cette Mitsubishi Galant 1800 GLSi de 1991. Tout d&rsquo;abord, ce mod\u00e8le se distingue par le fait que la Galant a presque compl\u00e8tement disparu de la circulation, surtout pour cette g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de mod\u00e8les. De plus, cet exemplaire n&rsquo;est pas seulement d&rsquo;origine hollandaise, la voiture est \u00e9galement en tr\u00e8s bel \u00e9tat et compl\u00e8tement d&rsquo;origine. La sixi\u00e8me g\u00e9n\u00e9ration a repris la plate-forme technique de la g\u00e9n\u00e9ration pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente, mais une carrosserie enti\u00e8rement nouvelle a \u00e9t\u00e9 ajout\u00e9e. Suivant la derni\u00e8re mode automobile, la voiture a \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7ue un peu plus haute et surtout plus ronde. D\u00e9sormais, outre la berline \u00e0 quatre portes, il \u00e9tait \u00e9galement possible d&rsquo;opter pour un liftback \u00e0 cinq portes. En option, la voiture \u00e9tait \u00e9quip\u00e9e d&rsquo;une suspension pneumatique adaptative, la premi\u00e8re suspension semi-active \u00e0 commande \u00e9lectronique dans une voiture de tourisme de grande s\u00e9rie. <\/p>\n<h2><strong>Sportifs : de la GTi \u00e0 l&rsquo;AMG<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>En Europe, la Mitsubishi Galant \u00e9tait principalement une solide voiture familiale et professionnelle, mais il existait \u00e9galement des variantes sportives. Le mod\u00e8le sportif de pointe en Europe \u00e9tait la GTi 16V, avec un quatre cylindres de 2,0 litres de 106 kW (144 ch) et une transmission int\u00e9grale en option. Ce moteur permettait des performances assez douces pour l&rsquo;\u00e9poque. Le VR-4, avec jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 177 kW (241 ch) selon l&rsquo;ann\u00e9e, \u00e9tait un superlatif. La VR-4 \u00e9tait un mod\u00e8le d&rsquo;homologation pour le groupe A du WRC.    <\/p>\n<p>Une \u00e9dition sp\u00e9ciale limit\u00e9e \u00e9tait une version de la GTi retouch\u00e9e par AMG, d&rsquo;une puissance de 125 kW (170 ch). Les performances suppl\u00e9mentaires \u00e9taient visuellement soutenues par un kit de carrosserie et d&rsquo;autres touches AMG. Celle que nous avons rep\u00e9r\u00e9e date d&rsquo;un peu avant. Sous cette forme, la Galant de sixi\u00e8me g\u00e9n\u00e9ration est rest\u00e9e en production jusqu&rsquo;en 1994, mais sur certains march\u00e9s, une nouvelle septi\u00e8me g\u00e9n\u00e9ration a pris le relais d\u00e8s 1992.
