El motor produc\u00eda 76 kW (104 CV) con carburador o 110 kW (150 CV) con inyecci\u00f3n de combustible. La tracci\u00f3n siempre iba a las ruedas traseras. La transmisi\u00f3n era manual de cuatro velocidades, con una funci\u00f3n opcional de sobremarcha para todas las marchas excepto la primera. La versi\u00f3n posterior y mejorada de la sobremarcha era s\u00f3lo para las dos marchas m\u00e1s altas. Con un 0-100 en poco m\u00e1s de ocho segundos y una velocidad m\u00e1xima de 190 km\/h, el TR6 ofrec\u00eda unas prestaciones muy decentes para su \u00e9poca.<\/p>\n<p>La Triumph TR6 se mantuvo en producci\u00f3n hasta 1976, con una \u00fanica actualizaci\u00f3n significativa en 1973. Se a\u00f1adi\u00f3 un sutil aler\u00f3n delantero, se cambiaron el volante y los contadores tras \u00e9l y se mejor\u00f3 la mencionada sobremarcha. Los modelos con inyecci\u00f3n de combustible recibieron un cig\u00fce\u00f1al diferente, que redujo la potencia a 125 CV, pero mejor\u00f3 las caracter\u00edsticas del motor. El dise\u00f1o del TR6 ya hab\u00eda tenido en cuenta directamente el mercado estadounidense, por lo que las <em>luces laterales<\/em> obligatorias simplemente se incorporaron a los grupos \u00f3pticos de serie. En Norteam\u00e9rica s\u00f3lo se suministr\u00f3 la versi\u00f3n con carburador, que en realidad tambi\u00e9n estaba destinada principalmente a ese mercado. Con el paso de los a\u00f1os, las versiones estadounidenses difirieron ligeramente de las europeas, incluyendo topes de goma adicionales en los parachoques, asientos diferentes y medidas adicionales para reducir las emisiones del seis en l\u00ednea.<\/p>\n<p>Se fabricaron un total de 91.850 ejemplares del TR6. De ellos, 8.370 se vendieron en el Reino Unido, el resto se destin\u00f3 a la exportaci\u00f3n. Casi todas las exportaciones se dirig\u00edan a Norteam\u00e9rica. Dato curioso: el n\u00famero de Triumph TR6 en el Reino Unido no ha hecho m\u00e1s que aumentar desde la congelaci\u00f3n de la producci\u00f3n, ya que muchos ejemplares americanos se trajeron al Reino Unido a lo largo de los a\u00f1os. En 1992, el coche lleg\u00f3 a los Pa\u00edses Bajos. Al parecer, el coche es muy apreciado, \u00a1porque la persona que lo import\u00f3 en su d\u00eda sigue siendo propietaria del Triumph! Coche y propietario parecen inseparables y lo entendemos con un roadster tan bonito.
