Chapman encarg\u00f3 a Geoff Ferris, dise\u00f1ador del equipo Lotus, que pusiera en marcha el proyecto del Type 66 para evaluar c\u00f3mo pod\u00edan aplicarse los principios de dise\u00f1o de Lotus a esta emocionante categor\u00eda de competici\u00f3n.  <\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, el hecho de que Chapman se centrara principalmente en la F\u00f3rmula 1 hizo que el innovador proyecto Can-Am nunca fuera m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de los dibujos t\u00e9cnicos y los modelos a escala. Nada menos que 53 a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s de los primeros dise\u00f1os, el Tipo 66 cobra vida. El Lotus Type 66 se desarroll\u00f3 en el a\u00f1o del 75 aniversario de Lotus. S\u00f3lo diez unidades vieron la luz del d\u00eda, todas equipadas con un motor Lotus V8. \u00bfEl precio? M\u00e1s de un mill\u00f3n de libras cada uno.<\/p>\n<h2>Colores hist\u00f3ricos<\/h2>\n<p>El coche hizo su debut en p\u00fablico con colores hist\u00f3ricamente fieles: reflejando los colores rojo, blanco y dorado con los que Lotus compiti\u00f3 a principios de la d\u00e9cada de 1970. Entre otros, el Lotus Type 72 F1 tambi\u00e9n corri\u00f3 con los mismos colores. El motor central V8 produce m\u00e1s de 830 CV a 8.800 rpm.
