En su d\u00eda, fue un coche bastante revolucionario. Los utilitarios ya exist\u00edan, pero dif\u00edcilmente con una forma tan compacta y pr\u00e1ctica. Los parachoques tambi\u00e9n eran especiales. No hab\u00eda barras cromadas en el coche, sino piezas de pl\u00e1stico muy bien integradas en la carrocer\u00eda. Por cierto, \u00bfsab\u00edas que el ahora ic\u00f3nico dise\u00f1o del R5 comenz\u00f3 como un proyecto de ocio del dise\u00f1ador? A pesar de su n\u00famero de sucesor, el R5 no fue un sucesor del Renault 4, sino que se entreg\u00f3 junto a \u00e9l como una alternativa m\u00e1s lujosa. Originalmente, el coche s\u00f3lo era de tres puertas, pero en 1979 se a\u00f1adi\u00f3 a la gama una variante de cinco puertas. El Renault 7 tambi\u00e9n tuvo una versi\u00f3n sed\u00e1n de cuatro puertas a partir de 1974, pero s\u00f3lo se vendi\u00f3 en un n\u00famero limitado de pa\u00edses. En forma de Renault LeCar, el R5 tuvo incluso una modesta carrera americana.<\/p>\n<p>El utilitario, fundamentalmente econ\u00f3mico y de buen comportamiento, tambi\u00e9n proporcion\u00f3 una base excelente para las variantes deportivas. Tambi\u00e9n llegaron las versiones deportivas Alpine y Gordini, pero lo m\u00e1s destacado es el ya legendario Renault 5 Turbo, con su carrocer\u00eda sustancialmente alargada y su motor central en el lugar de los asientos traseros. En 1984, Renault contraatac\u00f3 con la segunda generaci\u00f3n del R5. La familiar carrocer\u00eda trapezoidal se mantuvo, pero por lo dem\u00e1s el dise\u00f1o se ajust\u00f3 completamente para la d\u00e9cada de 1980. Para subrayar su gran progreso con respecto al primer modelo, el nuevo Renault 5 se llam\u00f3 tambi\u00e9n Supercinq, o Supercinco.<\/p>\n<p>El nuevo Renault 5 volvi\u00f3 a presentarse como utilitario de tres y cinco puertas. Incluso aqu\u00ed, en los Pa\u00edses Bajos, estaban casi literalmente en cada esquina. Anno 2023, por desgracia es una singularidad cruzarse con el franc\u00e9s compacto, as\u00ed que cuando el otro d\u00eda nos topamos con \u00e9ste en el pueblo de Driebruggen, hicimos una parada fotogr\u00e1fica de inmediato.<\/p>\n<p>Para ser precisos, aqu\u00ed vemos un Renault 5 GTS holand\u00e9s original de 1988. El GTS era una de las versiones m\u00e1s lujosas, con un motor de gasolina de 1,4 litros y 50 kW (68 CV) bajo el cap\u00f3. El actual propietario lo tiene desde hace poco menos de un a\u00f1o. Debe ser un amante, aunque s\u00f3lo sea porque el interior est\u00e1 bien protegido del sol. Ni siquiera en uno de los d\u00edas de calor que acabamos de pasar. Adem\u00e1s, este R5 tambi\u00e9n tiene muy buena pinta. La capa superior de pl\u00e1sticos desconchada de la parte trasera contrasta con el resto del coche, que parece casi nuevo.<\/p>\n<p>Le deseamos al propietario muchos kil\u00f3metros m\u00e1s de felicidad. Puede que s\u00ed. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.renault.nl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Renault<\/a> est\u00e1 trabajando en una tercera generaci\u00f3n del modelo, que deber\u00eda entrar en producci\u00f3n en 2024 tras una \u00abpausa\u00bb de 28 a\u00f1os. Ser\u00e1 un utilitario totalmente el\u00e9ctrico que har\u00e1 caso al nombre Renault 5 EV y -sobre todo- se mantendr\u00e1 fiel a la forma original de su carrocer\u00eda. El Renault 5 Prototipo (concept car) ya es un presagio concreto.
