You can now play Pac-Man in Volkswagens

Pac-Man’s Championship Edition has been specially adapted and is full of amusing references to Volkswagen: classic Pac-Man elements have been replaced with rims, silhouettes of iconic Volkswagens and recognizable badges such as “GTI” and “R. Volkswagen is also introducing dynamic ambient lighting that plays along while gaming. The lighting thus responds dynamically to game content and player inputs, providing an authentic arcade feel.

AirConsole In-Car app

The AirConsole In-Car app is available in most European countries on the Volkswagen ID.7, ID.5, ID.4 and ID.3 (as of ID. Software 4.0), as well as on the new Tayron, Tiguan, Passat, Golf Variant and Golf. To play while parked, you need a Volkswagen ID user account, an active VW Connect Plus contract and an active Internet connection on your smartphone.

The game itself: Pac-Man Championship Edition

The Volkswagen edition of Pac-Man Championship Edition retains the familiar principle of the 1980s, in which Pac-Man moves through a labyrinth to eat dots and dodge ghosts. The bonus points and power pellets – which temporarily make Pac-man unbeatable – have been redesigned. Extra points are awarded when the player hits the silhouettes of iconic Volkswagen models such as the Beetle, VW Bus or Golf IV R32 and badges like “GTI,” “GTX” or “R. Also, several Volkswagen rims have become an “edible” game element and the Volkswagen logo replaces the time-honored yellow power pellets needed to overcome ghostly opponents.
