Why should buyers choose an EV2? &nbsp;<\/h3>\n<p>&#8220;For us, the EV2 is an important car because it is the most economical EV in our lineup. With the EV2, we want to increase Kia&#8217;s accessibility. The E-GMP platform is particularly versatile, allowing us to create an attractive overall package for our buyers. This vehicle has similar interior dimensions to comparable ICE hatchback models in the C-segment. We can therefore market the EV2 to a huge target group. In terms of design, it is clearly recognizable as a Kia. It looks mature and can pass as the <em>main<\/em> car in a household. Furthermore, we have brought technology from higher segments to the B-segment. The car is thoughtful and offers many tech-features. From an EV perspective: the range and fast-charging capabilities are unique in this segment. Normally, smaller models are a second car in the household. That&#8217;s different with the EV2. We are aiming at younger generation buyers and the older target group. We appeal to both target groups, because the car also offers high seating, is safe and offers good visibility all around.&#8221;             <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/kia-ev2-gtline-ivory-silver-matt-static-highres-005-1280x720.jpg\" alt=\"Kia EV2 GT-Line\" class=\"wp-image-215268\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Kia EV2 GT-Line<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How would you guys like to price the EV2? Comparable to the new Kia Stonic? That one comes from 28,995 euros.  <\/h3>\n<p>&#8220;We are aiming for a starting price of around 30,000 euros. This depends on the market and lineup strategy. We are launching the car first with an extra richly equipped variant. In practice, the price of the EV2 will not be much different from the Stonic prices. In any case, we want to market the EV2 as price-friendly as possible. Financing is also very important for the EV2, not only business lease but also private lease. Because of the good residual value, we can offer competitive rates here.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What do you think are the main USPs of the new Kia EV2?<\/h3>\n<p>&#8220;Quality, reliability, peace of mind, good warranty conditions. These were the minimum conditions for us during the development of this car. Otherwise we would have been better off not building this car. Our design team has done a good job when it comes to packaging.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Do you think the B-segment will continue to grow in the coming years? And what will cause this growth? <\/h3>\n<p>&#8220;SUVs remain popular. The traditional hatchback buyer has defected to SUVs and crossovers. So yes, this segment continues to grow. Even harder than you might think. Why is the B-segment so important: If you look at different regions, Europe is always a HUB for smaller cars compared to the United States or Asia where larger cars are the norm. In Europe, the smaller models are much more in demand. We want to offer EV technology affordably in compact models for that reason. In the B-segment, EVs are expected to have a share of 13.6 percent in 2026, but that will grow to 18.1 percent by 2032. There is a lot of potential.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A glimpse into the future. The A-segment. Currently, here you have the Picanto. Is there room for an electric A-segment car from Kia? And in what way do you guys want to flesh out such a model?    <\/h3>\n<p>&#8220;We cannot make any statements about our future. We are, of course, studying other EV models in other segments. In the short and medium term, the Picanto is our model in the A segment. 60,000 units every year in Europe. That&#8217;s over 10 percent of our total volume in Europe. In itself, the idea of an electric A-segment model is quite interesting if there is a demand for it. It depends on that. We have to constantly look at accessibility and pricing and volume. That equation has to be right to make the switch. We are now opting for a step-by-step strategy. First the half-models and then top-down introducing other EV models into the market. With the EV2, EV3 and EV4, we have our main segments covered.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">And then building on the A segment, how does Kia envision its future presence in the A segment?<\/h3>\n<p>&#8220;After two or three years we will look at Picanto, it is too early for that now. There will be a successor to the Picanto, though. About the powertrain interpretation, we cannot say anything at this time. Currently, ICE is the only option we offer.
